Dr. Kevin L Riemer, MD

I would highly recommend NOT seeing Dr Riemer. Like many of the other reviews, my surgery was cxl at the last minute and communication was poor. But that is not the worst part. He insisted that I also had three hammer toes and that they needed to be fixed as well. Long story short, now my toe is crooked and when I asked him about it his response was “that toe is really hard to work on”. Then why did you do it? My bunion toe is also not straight and I have nerve pain two years post surgery in that toe. When I went to see him about the he responded “you are hyper mobile”. What in the world does that mean. After seeing another doctor about the nerve pain I was told that most likely Dr Riemer nicked a nerve! Do not see this doctor. There are so many better ones in Boston.

I can't express enough how grateful I am for Dr. Riemer's top-notch bunion surgery. From start to finish, this experience exceeded my expectations. Before the surgery, I suffered from pain and limited mobility due to my bunion. Dr. Riemer explained everything clearly, making me feel at ease. The surgery itself was a breeze, and my recovery was much smoother than expected. Dr. Riemer's expertise was evident throughout. His resident Dr. Nguyen was phenomenal as well. What truly sets Dr. Riemer apart is his genuine care. He and his team were there every step of the way, addressing my concerns and providing personalized advice. Today, I'm pain-free and thrilled with the results. If you need bunion surgery or any foot-related procedure, I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Riemer.

Canceled surgery on me twice. Poor communication. Totally unreliable! Beware!!

The initial diagnosis and explanation of the surgery I would need was excellent. However, my experience after this point has been terrible! Covid inevitably delayed the surgery, which I was expecting. Since then, I have attempted to contact him and his staff on numerous ocassions. Sometimes I am told he will ring me back in 30 minutes, other times I leave messages asking him to contact me whenever he can. I understand Covid makes a lot of uncertainty, but I now had to leave the US and he would not even do me the courtesy of writing a short letter explaining the diagnosis and his intended surgery plans so that I could present it to a new surgeon.

Shocked to read the negative comments; honestly one of the best doctors I have had... EVER.... He clearly explained my issues and allowed me to give input on my treatment plan and eventual surgery. He has a very busy office and face to face time during visits is short, but I received excellent care.

I had an appointment with Dr. Kevin L Riemer after my broken toe healed. My toe was clearly bent sitting on top of the next toe over. I told him that walking was awkward and this bent toe was pushing against my other toes. He told me to live with it. He seemed very frustrated and was short and snippy. I went to another Podiatrist who was shocked that Dr. Kevin L Riemer did not suggest surgery. He set me up for surgery and corrected my bent toe that Dr. Kevin L Riemer refused to do anything for. I would not recommend Dr. Kevin L Riemer to my worst enemy.

My very first appointment with the doctor was cancelled the morning of without any explanation, and had to wait 2 weeks to be rescheduled. When I was finally seen, he spent a whole 10 minutes with me. My follow up appointment, which ended up being quite urgent, was also cancelled the morning of with no explanation. Was told they’d call me back by the end of the day with an appointment for the next day, never got a call back. Finally got in touch with them and was able to get an appointment a few days later. When I showed up on time, they said I didn’t have an appointment. Office staff made it seem like it was my fault. Finally get seen and the doctor said he “doesn’t have time to do the procedure needed” even though when scheduling they said it would be OK. Ended up waiting over an hour and having to be seen my a resident, not even the doctor. Will not be coming back.

The secretaries at the desk could not be more rude. I was seen 45 minutes late for my first appointment. I arrive at my second appointment to be told he had an emergency surgery and can’t see me today. No one contacted me. Another woman walks in at the same time and her appointment was also canceled with no phone call but they offered her a later time same day. I can’t be seen for 2 weeks. Oh and I have to pay for parking and wasted an hour driving in Boston traffic for no reason. They also can’t reschedule me with a different doctor until they speak to Dr. Reimer. Pretty sure it’s my choice who I see for medical care.

I had such a terrible experience with this doctor. I apparently was his last appt of the day and was not informed of this by his staff. He spent maybe 5 minutes with me, was not friendly at all and quite abrupt and arrogant. I felt like a second class citizen in the few minutes I was with him. He would instruct me to do things as though I were an animal (i.e. turn around). He then informed me that I would need X-rays, but that he would not have time to review them. This is something that would normally take one appt, which I later found out by calling, but he was clearly in a rush to start his weekend. He told me to ask his staff where the X-ray dept was and I walked right out. I'd rather be cared for by somebody with better manners.
