Dr Kevin Ro, MD

My experience with the office staff and Dr. Ro were both unacceptable. I first asked the reception staff if Dr. Ro prescribed NDT. They, without hesitation, answered in the affirmative. This was wrong information. During the appointment, Dr. Ro stated that he will absolutely not prescribe Armour. He does not listen to the patient, but returns questions with an extremely narrow-minded perspective on thyroid gland function and demonstrates a lack of ability for problem-solving or higher level thinking. Furthermore, Dr. Ro’s actions lead to cancellation of an GI/endoscopy procedure by a specialist at UC Irvine, which I had waited for for a long time. When UC Irvine called Dr. Ro to ‘Sign off’ on my thyroid condition monitoring, he refused. The refusal was solely on the basis that I would not switch from Armour to Levothyroxin; my lab parameters were within range, indicating no need fir a dosage adjustment. I would definitely never refer anyone to Dr. Ro. This probably goes for that… entire Endocrinology Dept., on the basis that the front desk misinformed me. Consequently, I wasted my time and others’ and underwent a unnecessary and non-productive experience.

Dr Ro could be the best endocrinologist in the world, but his phone system is the worst! Trying to reach this office, god forbid you had an emergency, is ridiculous. I am referencing 4 out of 4 separate occasions where I called more than 6 times, was out of service, disconnected or hung up on each time. That’s approx 24 times!!! Never a recorder, NOTHING. Beyond frustrating. As for Dr Ro, he is nothing special. Did not read one word on the filled out chart. Very robotic. He had a script and a formula. If you are looking for thoughtful, personal care, he is not for you.
