Dr. Kevin R Schmidt, DO

I've known "Dr. Kevy" for nearly 25 years! In addition to being a BRILLIANT doctor, he is one STAND UP dude...the type of person that this world needs more of. He saved my life in 2006 when he correctly diagnosed my "valley fever" via fax! This was missed by the local doctors at an ER in Gilbert, AZ. If it weren't for Dr. Kevy's concern for my continued symptoms after I left the ER, I would have most likely died from the fungal infection disseminating to my brain. The Gilbert Hospital docs said that I was simply having "chest spasms" and pretty much told me to "go home and take an aspirin." When I got worse over the next week, Doctor Kevy had me fax him my radiology report. It CLEARLY said that I had "infiltrates" in 3 of 5 lobes in my lungs. That coupled with my other symptoms told Doctor Kevy that I had a serious case of VALLEY FEVER. I spent a week in the hospital, but thanks to Doctor Kevy, I am here to write about it. He is a very compassionate and caring person, not… to mention a brilliant doctor. Kevy, I love ya, and if I didn't say it before, THANK YOU for saving my life - and for being my friend.
