Dr. Kevin Boyd Terrell

It is no surprise to me that Dr. Terrell only has 5 reviews total and not a single positive one in the past year. Started going to Dr. Terrell in 2013 primarily out of convenience in vicinity to my office. Had a few cavities, my own fault obviously, and routine cleanings. I will own up that I was late to two of my appointments, by maybe 5 minutes. However, the last appointment I had with Dr. Terrell he had me waiting for over 20-25 minutes as I was the first appointment of the day. He proceeded to perform my routine cleaning in literally 10 minutes. I felt like I was rushed out of the office just so he didn't back up other appointments, although every time I've been in there's no secretary at the front and the office was vacant. Dr. Terrell and his assistant are the only ones I've ever spoken to on the phone or seen in the office. A highly successful practice can afford a full time receptionist to properly book and maintain clients well being. Being the most unprofessional dental… environment I've ever wasted my money on, I called today intending to get a copy of my records to send to my new dentist. Dr. Terrell answers the phone, because they clearly don't have a receptionist, and tells me he's "swamped" and can't get them to me until Friday. I asked if there was any way I could get them today, then the attitude just escalated from there. Now he tells me Texas law requires me to sign a release form in order to get them in which he also has to approve. I pointed out that he failed to mention this process when he initially told me he could send records Friday. He willfully admitted that he was requiring me to go the release form route since it was a last minute request. I can't help that he is offended I'm switching dentists but if he and his one staff member treated patients with care and respect I would honestly not be switching. The no secretary and subletting office space with a medspa should have been red flag enough for me, but at least he won't get any more of my money. A legal route will now be sought in order to obtain records I'm already entitled to.
