Dr. Kevin William Walsh

My husband and I of nearly 12 years brought his two eldest sons (ages 13 and 14, full biological siblings) to Dr. Walsh within the same 6 months, with their mother’s permission. I did extensive research beforehand, with both parents’ support, to ensure we chose what we thought was a reputable provider. With the oldest, Dr. Walsh pushed hard toward an ADHD diagnosis. With the younger brother, despite very similar patterns and family history, he dismissed the same concerns and labeled him with “anxiety” instead. Both parents now agree the second son has struggles similar to the oldest, and Mom herself is now requesting the same support Dad originally advocated for. In my view, both boys likely show signs on the spectrum, but Dr. Walsh refused to consider autism for either. In one meeting, Dr. Walsh even raised his voice at Dad for expressing concerns, saying it was “not family therapy.” For context, Dad has 50/50 legal and physical custody, so his perspective should have been given… equal weight — yet Dr. Walsh dismissed him outright. That was the biggest red flag: a provider should respect both parents’ input when it comes to their child’s care. Parents should know: if you see Dr. Walsh, your voice may not be respected depending on his opinion of you. He appears to bring strong personal biases into the room, which can directly impact the accuracy of your child’s diagnosis and the support they receive. I would not recommend him to families seeking balanced, respectful evaluation. He certainly does not favor active fathers.
