Pushes you to have unnecessary surgeries by trying to scare you insisting it needs to be done right away. After thyroid nodule surgery when taking out the stitches he refused to answer ANY questions. He just kept repeating, "ask your primary care physician" louder when I tried to ask a couple questions. I guess he knows nothing about the thyroid. I felt like his friendliness changed the second he got paid for my surgery. I really regret having my thyroid removed the second I found out I had a little lump. If it would have been cancerous, Thyroid cancer usually grows super slow! I should have just watched it. He must have had a kid going to college....

Cat scan showed my stomach to be entirely up into my chest so my gastroenterologist highly recommended Dr Wheeler, who performed esophageal fundectomy laparoscopically. Unfortunately my stomach had attached by scar tissue to organs, the heart, lungs... so a 45 to 60 minute surgery turned into a 3 hr surgery. I’m now 5 months postop and so far, so good. He obviously knows his stuff, thank goodness. I immediately lost the pain I was having at my breastbone before surgery & can breathe so much easier. He is quite pleasant but not overly verbal so write down what you’d like to know to ask him. ?? I highly recommend Dr. Wheeler.

After my doctor sent me to Dr. Wheeler to get a parathyroid tumor removed Dr. Wheeler refused to remove it. He said my doctor diagnosis was not correct. Grant you my doctor is one of the best in his field. I scheduled a surgery with the Tampa Parathyroid Institute in Florida. The tumor was as big as my toe and had been growing in my neck for 10 yrs. I absolutely would not recommend this doctor to anyone. On top on that he questioned my doctors diagnosis.

I had to go to the ER with excruciating pain thinking I was having a heart attack. Quickly found I actually was having gall bladder attack and the Er doctor called for Dr Wheeler. I had no time to research doctors , I needed to have the gall bladder removed after seeing the massive stone in the GB on sonogram Dr . Miller quickly worked me into surgery , rearranging his schedule , his office staff was very professional and agressive in getting me help immediately. Dr Miller kept me completely informed about the surgery and called my fears about the outcome ...quickly operated on me , and today , the pain is gone . I am very pleased with Kevin Wheeler. He could not have been more professional in his care of me.

Although I felt comfortable with Dr. Wheeler, scheduling my surgery was full of complications and made me feel nervous about his scheduling staff.
