Dr. Kevin Gary White

Botched my son's diagnosis, turning a simple thing into life threatening situation. Changed doc in the nick of time. Dr. White is apparently friendly, but instead of digging deeper into what was going on, got frustrated and dismissive. Thank God we went elsewhere

Every single staff member is helpful. They have always made a conscious effort to make a positive difference. I have never felt rushed, and always feel comfortable calling in with a concern, and they will stay late when the community. Needs them too. I interviewed Dr white while pregnant, and have stuck with them for years.

Very caring and professional. I take all three of my children here.

Excellent doctor. He and his team have taken excellent care of our family over the past several years.

I took my 4 month old baby to dr.white for her shots. He didn't take the time to explain what she is getting. I like to ask a lot of questions but he didn't seem open to listen. He asked me if I'm ready to give her solid foods and when I said yes, he just said to start with rice cereal once a day then oatmeal then vegetables and fruits. This was the exact answer I got! When asked how much to give or how often, he wasn't very clear. I asked for a chart to follow so I know how to gradually increase her daily intake without upsetting her stomach, he said they didn't have one and that all info is available online. She's my first so how am I expected to know how to gradually give her solids? If everything is online, then why do we need to visit a doctor? Not tomention, this washer first visit and he didnt ask any questions about her nutrition.not very happy, I will not go back!

We recently took our infant to see Dr. White at Surfside Pediatrics. We, of course, checked Dr White and Surfside Peds out online beforehand. We read about Dr Whites education, his involvement on the board of multiple organizations, as well as his outreach to Africaand we were impressed. We saw some great reviews online about Dr. White. We saw mixed reviews about the staff at Surfside Pediatrics. When we arrived, we were not greeted but as soon as we walked through the door we were asked our sons name across the room, instead of waiting til we got to the counter (not very private). After filling out the standard forms for our first visit, we were called back pretty quickly, even with it being late in the day when many doctors may fall behind. A nurse took our infants temperature and weight. Dr. White came in moments later and checked out our little one. He asked great questions and explained everything well. He didnt seem to be in a rush to get us out of there (we like to ask lots of… questions). Dr White sent a prescription for antibiotics to our preferred pharmacy. Overall we thought the appointment went quite well. Later, however, we went to the pharmacy and it took quite a while for them to fill a simple prescription, which we thought was strange. The pharmacy technician told us that the prescribed amount (3 teaspoons of amoxicillin by mouth twice per day for 10 days) seemed way too high for our little one but couldnt get a hold of the dr. We called the dr office ourselves after hours and the answering service got a hold of the on-call dr to correct the prescription and re-send to the pharmacy. The pharmacist said that the on call dr apologized and said that Dr White meant 3 ml by mouth twice a day for 10 days...1/5 the amount of the original prescription. While this is an honest mistake and we are not angry with Dr White, too much amoxicillin if not caught by the pharmacy could have led to excess stomach cramping, vomiting, diarrhea, rash, thrush, kidney damage, a severe decrease in the amount of urine, or seizures. We saw many cases online which have had this happen to them elsewhere either an error by the dr or the pharmacy. Weve been seeing another pediatrician for over 3 years now and never had this happen. While we mean no ill will to Dr White and were actually satisfied with our visit to him, we will not be returning.

I had problem from day one. They don't call when they say they will and are supposed to. They always say "No". When they make mistake, they don't apologize and just ignore as if nothing has happened. Got my billings incorrectly until I sorted out after making number of calls. Didn't update my son's immunization card correctly. How could they neglect consistently? I wished doctor White could have looked at it properly when I'm telling him that it has bothered my son very much. In spite all of these I took my 2 boys, an infant and a toddler for 2 years hoping it will be better but it got worse. In my last appointment, one of the staff was so rude and showed me an attitude that I left without seeing a doctor. I'll take my boys elsewhere.

The office staff is snotty and incompetent. They had to call me four times to clarify the exact same information. When I expressed frustration about the their lack of internal communication they were incredibly rude and arrogant. Not customer-oriented, inefficient, and disorganized.

We went to Dr. Kevin White after having our first child. He was the worst doctor we ever went to. On our second visit he told us our daughter had a rare metabolic disorder and would need more testing. After sending us to Quest and trying to get urine from a 3 days old, we had to go back to his office and have a catheter put in her to get a urine sample...his office lost the sample (but blamed it on UCLA). 2 weeks later, I had to go to his office again and get another urine sample...each time he charged us for her to get a catheter. He wouldn't even really check her out...would just look at her and laugh and say she looked pretty good. She was born 4 weeks early and he is telling us that she has a rare metabolic disease and he isn't even going to check her vitals? A nightmare experience and we quickly changed doctors...thank goodness. And by the way...she doesn't have a rare metabolic disease...the test was incorrect because she was born too early.

Dr. White has been the BEST doctor for my son. He is kind, a true advocate for him and I trust him 100%
