Dr. Khaled Raafat Girgis, MD

Waited in the exam room for more than 30 minutes. No office staff checked on me to give me some idea of how much longer I would have to wait. 15-20 minutes should be sufficient. I left. I'll find a physician who values my time.

I have been seeing Dr. Girgis for well over 15 years now, and I have nothing but great things to say about him. He has always cared about myself and my family in addition to my health. He has gone out of his way, multiple times, to make sure I am taken care of. I wouldn't dream of seeing anyone else for my asthma and allergy concerns and I would highly recommend him to anyone in the market for a new doc. His office staff is always friendly, and the speed of his office visits always goes smoothly.

This doctor prescribed a proton pump inhibitor in a patient to who he gave 4 other medications. He did not perform a genetic profile of the patient to determine if any of those drugs might interact, producing negative health effects to the patient. He was not even concerned about the possibility of drug interactions. When the prescribed drugs interacted in the patient, that patient nearly died. No apology was every offered, no acknowledgement of error was given. Also keeps kids on medications far too long in exchange for incentives from drug companies for “clinical research”. I will never visit him again.

I am a proactive and recognized google fan of giving honest ratings to all companies and businesses that deserve a good ratings, but I also am transparent about any business that has been perceived as deceiving and/or dishonest, as well as those companies that are not being fair and/or those that do not provide a good product or service. I believe that the public has the right to know of concerns or issues that may be underlying or not readily perceived until it is too late. I also believe it is fair to let companies know about concerns so they have the right to address them fairly and comprehensively, so I am writing this in a transparent manner and with actual facts that took place. I called this Lenexa Allergy Center and requested that they email me or allow me to print off the necessary paperwork so that I could have it ready in advance of a "New Customer Visit", especially since my schedule is so tight and I work out of town. I was told that that my request could NOT be… accommodated. I was completely caught off guard by this "unwillingness" to scan and email me the forms that are required for a new appointment. So this person tried to schedule me an appointment and I told her that I was not feeling welcome at this point and she disregarded my perception completely which really gave me a bad taste in my mouth. I figured that I would give them the benefit of doubt until she became very firm with me and unwilling to change her attitude on the phone. I figured at this point I would hang up and just not deal with this office location any longer and that is what i did. So to summarize the facts; I did not receive a phone call to tell me of the 'so called" scheduled appointment and I did not receive any conversation or any form of communication regarding a cancellation fee. How I found out was when I was paying my monthly bills this week when I called their Overland Park Billing Office this week to pay for a doctor visit to another location of College Park Family Care and while I was on the phone I was told I had a charge of $150 in addition to the $144.91 that I was currently ready to pay. I told my side of the story to the billing representative [Josette] to please let her supervisor know what really happened and she was positive and receptive and said she would let her office manager know about my side of the story and that they would call the Lenexa Allergy Center and let them know. NOTE, the OP KS billing center has always been polite and courteous to work with. Well, I just received a voicemail today from the billing department stating that the Allergy Center in Lenexa would not waive this charge. This is what has caused me to post this negative rating and only give them a 1 star which in my mind is a POOR rating overall. My perception is based on being deceived and them NOT disclosing a $150 Fee or Charge for a missed visit. If I had been aware of this policy, I would have called in advance to cancel any scheduled appointment, especially since i had NO intentions of going to this office after the way they treated me via telephone. I have been with College Park Family Care now for over a decade now and have NEVER been AWOL for an appointment. I have on rare occasions called to cancel or reschedule due to work or illness. I do understand a few things in life and one of them is this; No one can be forced to pay for something they did not receive or agree to, nor will that individual be held accountable for paying alleged charges when NO disclaimers or disclosures were offered regarding "no show" charges and/or fees and especially when there is nothing in writing to back it up. Lenexa Allergy is trying to penalize a potential client for what I consider is poor decision choice on their part by playing "unfair" and trying to force consumers to pay for services that were not received or agreed to. I am waiting to hear from College Park Family Care Lenexa Allergy Center regarding a quick resolution. I will be mailing a transcript to them as well for their board members and management to review.

I was referred to him from a friend that I know and let me tell you my first visit with dr. Gerges I just loved How informative he is. I think I finally found a doctor who cares about helping me with my allgeries\ asthma. I would highly recommend Dr. Girgis to my friends and family.P.s. he's very kid friendly tooâ?º

He is the most caring doctor I have ever been to. He goes above and beyond trying to figure out one's allergies and asthma triggers. Asthma and allergies are not always easy to treat, but he takes the time to figure out what each patient needs.

He is a wonderful, caring doctor, who goes above and beyond to make sure he gives his patients the best care available.He is up on the most current treatments for allergies and really takes the time with each patient to make sure they understand their particular options.
