Dr. Khin Sein Yin, MD

Dr. Yin worked with my Father at Fatima Hospital on the Rehab floor. After a botched back surgery, and being refused PT at Rhode Island Hospital we brought my father to Roger Williams where he was eventually transferred to Fatima where we met Dr. Yin. She is fantastic. Coordinated with the PT team and checked in on my father more than daily. She kept him motivated, kept him working towards goals, and together with the team on the seventh floor had him walking after being bedridden for over six mos. Excellent physician

I was very ill bedridden vomiting vertigo literally in coma state except I knew what was going on and after Doctor Yin heard I was not working even though I have twenty other diagnoses told me if i was going to continue to be sick like it was a choice i made! Apparently i had just for pretend seen twenty doctors and tried hundreds of vitamins supplements shakes diets and prescription pills in the five years before exhausting all my options. I had spent a year in bed by the time I reached Dr Yin office and my other 20 doctors had given up hope Id recover and even stopped treatment as everything up until that point had only made me even more nonfunctional. I had a host of bad reactions to every type of medication they tried and they tried hundreds on top of more holistic approaches. When I say everything failed, I mean everything. I was finally approved for medical marijuana and was waiting on the card from DOH when I had my appointment. I had high hopes for Dr Yin it was the… first time I had any hope about anything in months. I was not expecting a miracle, I had heard time and time again I was never going to be the same. I was just hoping to have some type of existence outside my bed. I wanted to be able to shower, brush my hair, maybe shave my legs. I wanted to be able to make a sandwich. I wanted to be able to let my dog outside without having to call my husbands sister with Lyme disease who was functioning way better than me or his brother who was going through chemotherapy who was functioning better than me. I never imagined I would spend nearly an hour listening to how I was weak minded unmotivated lazy. I felt like instead of a doctors appointment I was standing in for a horrible employees you are fired speech. I was told in serveral different ways that my life was basically only worth living if I was working. There was no way I could have any meaning or purpose unless I got myself back to work. I would love to go back to work. I do not like being hungry moving from a two bedroom to basement losing my insurance and having my regeistarion canceled. I do not like losing all my friends because no thirty year old wants to sit my there friends bedside while they vomit. I didnt enjoy losing the career I worked 3 jobs all through college to get. I do not understand the logic one uses to determine that before I got sick I lived my life in one manner hard working motivated and now I just decided one day that everything I worked hard for all my life I just no longer what. I made $700 a week but now I am happy with $700 a month for life begging the government for a disability check basically having them tell me I'm lying or looking for attention over and over while I wait years to maybe or maybe not get a check for $700 a month. I sure wish I could just click my red heels together and wish me back to a time where I was not sick but we do not live in a fairy tale place called Oz. I can no more think or dream away my ailments than someone with cancer can think away a tumor or a paraplegic can think his spinal cord back attached and walk again. Yes the mind is an important tool but rainbows and sunshine still cannot cure diseases and disorders. Why would anyone need a doctor if this was the case. Is every sick person in the world making a choice to be sick and when they die a choice?
