Dr. Kiana McNair

I am a board-certified Physician Assistant with full prescriptive authority. I started my career as a patient care tech at MUSC in Charleston, SC and during that time I was a part of the float team which allowed me to work with various populations and departments. After much time spent in the emergency department and inpatient psychiatric facility I recognized the importance of mental health and how rarely it is addressed. I completed my undergraduate education at the College of Charleston and decided to further my education and completed my Physician Assistant training at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. My training allowed me to gain experience in various specialties, including psychiatry. Through these experiences I developed a strong interest in behavioral health and becoming a mental health advocate within my community.

My goal as a provider is to foster a welcoming environment for patients to discuss concerns and together develop an individual treatment plan …based on the patients’ needs. When developing a treatment plan I believe it is important to consider all aspects of life including medication management, diet, exercise, and healthy relationships. I am looking forward to working with patients of all backgrounds to achieve a healthier mind and body. I am a member of the South Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants (SCAPA) and the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA).

In my free time I enjoy cooking, trying new restaurants, swimming, and spending time with my family and friends. Occasionally I like to foster kittens until they find their forever home. I also love to travel and explore new places. My favorite trip was to Italy and Costa Rica. The next place I hope to visit is Greece.
