Kierston Bocquin, CNM

Kierston Bocquin, APRN, CNM received a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Washburn University in 1997 and began her nursing career on the cardiac floor at St. Francis Health. Following the birth of her first child and inspired by the nurses that cared for her and her daughter, she transferred to the labor and delivery unit in 1999 where she trained in the newborn nursery, special care nursery, postpartum and labor and delivery units. She loved helping women in labor and wanted to take a more active role in women’s health. Kierston graduated from the Midwifery Institute at Philadelphia University in 2011, earning a master’s degree with an emphasis on midwifery. She worked part time as a nurse midwife doing out-of-hospital births for a year while continuing to work as a nurse in labor and delivery. In 2013, she joined the Women’s Center at The University of Kansas Health System St. Francis Campus as a full-time certified nurse midwife. Kierston is board certified as a nurse midwife by …the American Midwifery Certification Board, licensed as an APRN-CNM in Kansas and is active in the American College of Nurse Midwives Kansas affiliate. She cares for women from adolescence to menopause in obstetrics, well-woman care (annual exams, pap smears and birth control) and uncomplicated gynecologic concerns.Kierston was raised in Topeka. When she isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with her husband Casey and their four daughters.
