Dr. Kim Maria Almodovar, MD

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was so disappointing that I feel others should know what happened. I was scheduled for a colonoscopy on July 1st, 2026. Audrey, the scheduler at Dr. Kim Almodavar's office, told me she would contact my doctor's office regarding my insurance and any other information needed. Shortly afterward, I received the preparation instructions in the mail along with the date and time of my procedure, so I had every reason to believe everything was confirmed. Between June 1 and June 30, I called the office multiple times (6/1, 6/2, 6/3, 6/9, and 6/30). These calls are all logged on my phone. I repeatedly left messages asking for someone to call me back because I had questions, but no one ever returned my calls. I followed all of the preparation instructions exactly as directed. Anyone who has had a colonoscopy knows the preparation is unpleasant. Unfortunately, I became extremely sick from the magnesium citrate, vomiting repeatedly and feeling… miserable, but I completed the preparation because I believed my procedure was scheduled. When I arrived for my appointment, I gave my name at check-in and was told that I wasn't even on the schedule. The only option they offered was for me to continue fasting for another eight hours and hope they could squeeze me in later that day. That is simply unacceptable after everything I had already gone through. What made the experience even more frustrating was that Audrey refused to take responsibility and claimed she had called and left me voicemail messages. That is simply not true. My cell phone is the only number I use, and I did not receive a single call or voicemail from her. Had she actually contacted me, this entire situation could have been avoided. This experience reflects serious problems with both the scheduling process and the office's communication. Their phone system appears ineffective, messages are not returned, and patients are left to deal with the consequences of their mistakes. I do not recommend this practice based on my experience. This is the first negative review I have ever written because I usually try to give businesses the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately, the way this situation was handled left me with no confidence in this office, and I hope they make significant improvements so other patients don't have to go through what I did.

Doctor wrote orders for duplication of meds, would not return call for clarification. Tried calling office on a Friday, got a message saying you can't leave messages. Called again on a Saturday, had a patient that required some medical guidance, no answering service or way to leave message. called the office on Monday and spoke with a woman who was beyond rude and did not care about anything I said and refused to give Dr Almudovar another message. Worst doctor's office I have ever dealt with and I have been a nurse for 25 years and had to call upon a lot of doctors!

DR. ALMODOVAR IS NOT AS PRECISE IN DESCRIBING A PATIENT'S PROBLEMS AS I WOULD LIKE. SHE ALSO PREFERS NOT TO SHARE ALL THE INFORMATION WITH A PATIENT. SHE IS DISMISSIVE,SAYING "YOU DON'T NEED TO KNOW MORE".
