Dr. Kim Fraser Duncan, MD

Dec 19th 1994 my daughter was born in columbus nebraska they knew something was wrong with her when she was born by her umbilical cord she had a vein an an artery your suppose to have two veins an artery ok so they were doing test we were in the hospital for 2 day she wasnt eating gaining weight an had like a bluish tinted to her color very pale wasnt getting oxygen oxygen level weren't right so dr.allen sent kaitlin to childrens by ambulance an I had 2 other children had to get get them cared for also so by the time we got there they done test figure what needs to be done turns out Kaitlin had aortic valve stenosis,coartation of the aorta an turner syndrome. Kaitlin had a ballooning done at 2 days old million to 1 odds an the youngest to survive w that type surgery at that age she had a valve replacement which she had done at 9 months an another valve replacement to adult size at age 13. I Thank my lucky star that Dr. Duncan, an Dr Fletcher are were on staff that day we arrived if it… weren't for them Kaitlin wouldnt be here today she is 24 yrs old an living a good life thanks to them. I think still to this day she holds that record thanks to THEM an there AMAZING TEAM!!!

I was only recently diagnosed with a congenital heart defect and an aortic aneurysm. Dr. Duncan performed a valve replacement and aneurysm repair on me just a few short weeks ago. He saved my life; plain and simple! For that I will be eternally grateful! The attention, kindness and professionalism shown by not only Dr. Duncan but the entire UNMC staff has been amazing!

Dr. Duncan is a fabulous heart dr. He gives you all his attention On the patient. He does not give up on the patient when problems arrive. My family has the utmost respect for his decisions. He doesn't give up .he has been our family cardiologist for all of 20 years. My son has had two surgeries having double valve replacement and he would have no other dr. Do them in his future. I would highly recommend him. He saved his life both times. Would not think of going elsewhere. He becomes part of your family when you have these situations occur. Thanks so much for your caring.

Could not ask for better Dr Duncan was great can't put into words how greatful I am to have had him do my surgery.

BECAUSE OF DR DUNCAN AND GOD MY LITTLE GIRL LILLIAN WILL BE 2 IN A COUPLE DAYS HE SAVED HER LIFE,HE OPERATED ON HER LITTLE HEART WHEN SHE WAS 2 WEEKS OLD 9 HOUR SURGERY!! SHE HAD TGV TRANSPOSTION OF THE GREAT VESSALS WE OWE HIM EVERYTHING THANKYOU DR DUNCAN!!!!!!!!!

DR. Duncan also did a surgery on my family member and flubbed the operation as well, his answer was to put them on digoxen. Within a week and half she could hold no food or liquids down. After I took her to a new doctor she was taking to much digoxen and it was poisoning her. The doctor told me you can actually overdose from having to much digoxen in your system. Again he would not take responsibility and pretended nothing was wrong

Dr. Duncan did open heart surgery on my wife and screwed it up and didn't even have the guts to tell her. I had to take her to the Mayo Clinic (which he said he didn't believe in their ability) where she was re-operated on, heart valve fixed and has good health since. He was in way over his head and didn't have the manhood to admit it. We had to be told by another doctor it did not work. He wouldn't even take my phone calls. Please think twice before allowing him to operate. We also met another family who had to have theirs son's heart issues taken care of by another out of state hospital. BEWARE OF HIS ABILITY

Dr. Kim Duncan is one of the most caring and genuine people we've ever met. He met each of our panicked questions with patience and understanding, and always made us feel as if our child was his only patient. Nebraska is extremely lucky to have such a talented surgeon and wonderful person caring for our children!

I had a stroke in the presence of De. Kim Duncan and he laughed and me and commented that I was on too many pain meds. I was no longer on pain meds and didn't find out for months that I had suffered a stroke. He is a great surgeon, but beware.
