Dr. Kim Sandra Mcconnell, MD

My son has seen Dr. Mc Connell for 13 years and I could not be happier. It is the one appointment a year where I am not the Down syndrome specialist.

I have to drive over an hour each way to bring my son to see her and it is WELL worth the drive. Dr. McConnell is the most caring, compassionate, and knowledgeable doctor I have ever dealt with. She actually gets down to my child's level and TALKS to him as a PERSON. She LISTENS when I have concerns, she is very thorough in reviewing records, and she has a no-nonsense approach that is so refreshing. And she actually takes time out of her day to personally call and follow up, just to ask how everything is going. I don't think we would have ever found out my son's rare diagnosis if it was not for Dr. McConnell. She is the epitome of what a doctor should be, and more. By the way, my son LOVES her and gets excited when it's time for his visits with her. :)

Very caring, knowledgable, thourough

When it comes to Down Syndrome, you won't find a doctor in the Twin City area who knows more than Dr. McConnell. She is fantastic about networking with my child's other specialists as well. If she doesn't know something, she'll find someone who does. We've been seeing Dr. M. for 12 1/2 years now, and I won't switch until she retires! LOL
