Dr. Kim Anh Nguyen, MD

I am a dialysis patient and was transitioning from hemo-dialysis in the clinic to peritoneal dialysis which I do at home at night. I needed to have the p-d catheter implanted in my peritoneum (belly). My dialysis clinic sent me to a local surgery center (not Dr. Nguyen) where they allegedly specialize in this procedure. The first procedure there was botched, with the catheter not being implanted in the correct location and not functioning. Foolishly I allowed the clinic to send me back to the same surgery center again, to a different doctor. They botched the procedure a second time, with a bad placement and the catheter cuff popping out of my incision within a few days. A vicious mess with too many butchered holes in my belly! Very third-world! Finally my p-d nurse, a professional with over forty years experience, found Dr. Nguyen. From the first encounter, I realized what a skilled and compassionate surgeon she is. She immediately recognized the problem and scheduled a catheter… revision. In surgery, she implanted a new catheter laparoscopically and attached it securely inside and out. The defective catheter was removed. Her incisions were tiny and tidy, and she even did some "magic work" on the previous botched holes in my belly. She could have been a plastic surgeon! My nurse said that Dr. Nguyen's dressings were some of the most effective and sound post-surgical dressings that she has ever seen. I am about 6 weeks post-procedure with Dr. Nguyen. Her follow-up has been superb and the catheter is functioning perfectly. Paola is Dr. Nguyen's scheduler and is professional and cordial. Her medical assistant Daniel, although young, is right up to speed on his duties and is polite and professional. I would not hesitate a second to ask Dr. Nguyen to perform any surgery that I might need. Clearly, I will also recommend Dr. Nguyen to anyone needing a procedure. In this world of mediocrity Dr. Kim Nguyen is the personification of Excellence. If you need surgery, go see her!
