I am an RN and have been having back pain for about two weeks. I can’t even bend over or tie my shoes. I never had back pain before but still have to work. I have a high pain tolerance. I had some abdominal issues as well. A CT was ordered by another physician previously to be done in three weeks. But I was unable to wait that long due to the pain. I went to UC at KP where this MD told me we can do blood tests and if the blood tests are good we can proceed with the CT as opposed to an ultrasound. After having waited for 4 hours total and paid about $100.- she told me « your blood tests are good I can’t order a CT because it’s not an emergency do you want muscle relaxants !? » For real what if it was a tumor pressing against the spine or appendicitis, or anything not diagnosed by a blood test !? I guess pain is not an emergency and people are just faking symptoms. I don’t even want pain meds. This is unacceptable. I should have gone to the ED I wasted my whole day and money for… nothing and I still don’t know what’s wrong with me because no diagnostic tests were ordered.

Was somewhat polite however was not thorough with her examination. I didn’t seem like she was listening or cared to listen to me. The visit felt rushed and a waste of my time.

When Dr. Anchet came into the room to see me, first thing I noticed is that she looked young. Perhaps it's because she's petite but I guess that's besides the point. She has a pleasant, reassuring voice, excellent bedside manners, explained things to me thoroughly, answered all my questions and concerns, and followed up with me to make sure I was getting and feeling better. Thus the title "Short (because she is) and sweet (she's very kind and caring).
