Dr. Kimberly Kleveland Grande, MD

I had a terrible experience at the Skin Wellness Center in west Knoxville. I'm looking for a new dermatologist for myself and my family. An aesthetician friend suggested I try this practice. So I had my first (and last) appointment with Dr. Grande today (skin cancer check.) Her nurse, Kat, was hostile. I simply asked Kat "are you a nurse?" She immediately became defensive. I wasn't challenging her abilities and my tone was fine, so there was no excuse for defensiveness. As she asked about my prescribed meds, it went from bad to worse. I explained what each med was for, and she angrily said "You don't need to tell me that. I'm a nurse." She interrupted me when I tried to answer her questions. I was so stressed out I forgot her name. So as she was leaving the room, I asked her to repeat her name. She refused, giving me a sneering smile instead. All of this behavior, especially on the part of a "caregiver," is completely unprofessional. When Dr. Grande came in I explained to her what… happened. Her response was "people like Kat" and "our staff has been trained to de-escalate a situation by leaving the room." But one doesn't diffuse or de-escalate any situation with sneers and by refusing to give one's name. I've worked in customer service for ~50 years. This is just bad customer service in this practice. As patients (or clients or customers) all we can do is communicate our experience to those in charge. It's up to them to choose what to do with the information, but turning a blind eye to employee problems or gaslighting customers will not help any business. Dr Grande and staff have lost the opportunity to care for my well-insured family of four.

Dr. Grande is very knowledgeable. Everyone there is very friendly.

I scheduled a first time visit with Dr. Grande for a head to toe. I arrived fifteen minutes early with all my paperwork completed. I was kept waiting right at thirty minutes. When I expressed my dissatisfaction with the wait time, Dr. Grande demonstrated the ultimate in Medical arrogance , clearly annoyed that I should question wait time. She completed the exam quickly and with little as possible comment. I do not subscribe to the beholding the medical community, my time is just as valuable.

Great doctor. I feel so fortunate to have found her, thanks to my primary physician.

Went to Grande for over two years with the same skin problem with no helpful results. Finally got smart and made an appointment with a new doctor at another Dermatology office, Dr. Drew Miller, and he tested and diagnosed my problem after the first visit. I will never waste any more money with Grande.

went in for first full body screening to be checked for skin cancer as preventative measure. She spent ample time with me and took the time to answer my questions. Pleasant to talk to.
