Dr. Kimberly Greenwell grew up in the small military town of Radcliff, Kentucky. As a child, she developed a fascination with all facets of God’s creation--especially the amazing workings of the human body. Her family dentist further cultivated her interest in science and showed her how dentists can positively improve a person’s overall health and self-confidence. Upon graduating from high school, Dr. Greenwell received a scholarship to attend the University of Louisville where she excelled with a 4.0 G.P.A.
Based on her distinguished achievement, Dr. Greenwell was admitted to the University of Louisville School of Dentistry upon completion of her 3rd year of undergraduate training in biology. Throughout her schooling, Dr. Greenwell was committed to excellence in dental education, clinical technique, and patient comfort and satisfaction.
After receiving her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 2002, Dr. Greenwell participated in a General Practice Residency at the …Indiana University medical campus. During that time she pursued further training in tooth replacement techniques (dentures, partials, crowns, and bridges); treatment for jaw disorders such as clenching and grinding, oral surgery; care of patients with special needs, children, and the elderly; and other aspects of dentistry.
Dr. Greenwell practiced in Louisville, KY prior to moving to Newport News, where she joined Dr. Griffin and the City Center Dental Care team in March 2006. Dr. Greenwell is best known for her gentle touch and sincere concern for her patients’ well-being and comfort. "I am deeply committed to educating my patients about their dental needs so they can be involved in the treatment process and we can work together to maintain their smile for a lifetime," says Dr. Greenwell. Some of Dr. Greenwell’s special interests are in-office ceramic restorations, snoring and sleep apnea treatment, and preventive dentistry.
Outside of the office, Dr. Greenwell enjoys spending time with her husband, Chuck, and daughter, Hadley. "God has blessed me with a wonderful family and a great dental practice where I can use my knowledge and abilities to help others," states Dr. Greenwell. "There is a lot of bad in this world, and I want to help bring God’s love and hope to others through my practice of dentistry."
