We were sent to this doctor because Nebraska Medicaid wanted us to try a pain doctor here in Nebraska. We went to see her because my daughter suffers from neuropathy due to tethered spinal cord. The first appointment we had she doubled one of her meds. When that didn't help she wanted us to consider a spinal cord stimulator. We did our work checking into it and decided it would be a good option. After having it cancelled the first time, because they forgot that my daughter had to have a psych eval, and many weeks later we were finally supposed to have the procedure last Tuesday. After several tries to start an IV they finally got one in. Because of a couple of the places they tried to start the IV my daughter freaked out a bit. I was called into the hallway and informed that they were not going to do the procedure because she wouldn't be able to handle it. The doctor informed me that we should do the 4 week in patient program. When i told her we couldn't commit to that she told me… "well it is what it is" She never talked to my daughter about any of this. On Friday we went to pick up one of her pain meds and were told that it was not ready. They hadn't heard back from the doctor, which is the pain doctor. The pharmacy had sent the refill need to the doctor 3 times and never heard back. Now how do just leave a 15 year old in pain and choose not to refill the med and yet not even call. We will never see this doctor again!

For a doctor that has studied a lot of literature on pain she should know that “drug dependency” or addiction is a disease. She is snarky and blames everything under the sun on the meds. Truly the worst doctor I’ve ever taken a family member to. We were warned ahead of time she was really “full” of herself and a terrible doctor but felt the pain management program would work. Thank goodness we found a much better doctor who does the same treatment but isn’t so snarky and degrading on medical issues she knows nothing about.
