Dr. Kirk Jeffery Brower, MD

My overall impression of Dr. Brower is that he is simply too old for his job, although himself is a good guy. The first time I met with him I thought that he had a hearing problem and I struggled to make him understand me. He often has to put his hands on his ear to ask me what I said. Later I found it is not just hearing, it is the memory as well. Sometimes he seems to have no recall at all of what he said before and starts to make contradictory factual statements. Sometimes he seems very nervous, clenching hands and stares at me blankly. God bless him. Other times he shows an expression of empathy and concern, which I must say is rare to find at UM medicine. But it invariably ends up with repeating or at best paraphrase what I said. I must say his paraphrasing vocabulary is quite limited. Poor guy! During my visits with Dr. Brower, I have never acquired a single piece of new information or knowledge, which makes me suspect if he has such information or knowledge at… all. Overall, his treatment for me failed and I am in a much worse condition now. But I can see it is an old guy eager to show his value to society and would like to wish him a nice retirement instead.
