This doctor is too bullheaded and worried about his patient volume in comparison to other doctors in his office that he REFUSES to permit a sensitive teenage female patient (who he saw 1 time for 2 minutes) to transfer to the female doctor of HER choice. We were randomly placed with Dr. James before Christmas to try to get a handle on the acne before the holidays and when we attempted to use our direct referral to the female doctor of MY DAUGHTER'S CHOICE, it was DENIED by Atrium AND Dr. Adams. There was NO NOTICE by schedulers that we would be BOUND to this doctor for eternity as if in an arranged marriage. My daughter was denied the ability to transfer to more bubbly, female physician for whom her friends and cousin had recommended and who she would feel more comfortable engaging with. Dr. Adams' treatment plan did not work for her and she should be afforded the right one time to switch to someone she is comfortable working with especially being a minor. SHAME ON YOU ATRIUM.
