I love helping people, and dentistry enables me to provide gentle, personal care for the people and families in my community with compassion and precision. As a dentist, I am able to have regular interaction with my patients, beginning at their youth. I enjoy getting to know generations of families in our community, and watching them grow and mature through time. I treat each patient like part of my family, and will only offer the highest quality services and treatments that I know will work perfectly for their situation or issue.
Education and Continuing Education
Prior to becoming a dentist, I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Washington before attending the University of Washington School of Dentistry. In 1998 I graduated with my DDS, and have been serving the people and families of the Great Northwest since.
I know that part of being a good dentist means continuously learning the best techniques and methods that are always changing and …evolving. As part of my continuing education, I participate in local dental study clubs, where dentists get together to collaborate on techniques and learn from each other. Oftentimes, specialists or speakers are brought in to educate the group. I also regularly attend local and regional dental meetings to learn about current techniques and materials.
I love participating in continuing education, and consider my job a lifelong learning opportunity. I always want to provide my patients with the highest quality services, and the more I learn about emerging technologies and methods, the better dental experience I can offer my community.
In the Practice
I have been practicing dentistry since 1998, and truly love what I do. Renton has been my dental home since 2000, and I always enjoy getting to know the people of this area. I enjoy every aspect of my job, from incorporating art and science into my profession to building personal relationships with my patients. When a patient comes to me with discomfort, I am grateful to have the skills to help them. Their smiles at the end of an appointment always make my day!
I feel it is important to ask a lot of questions in order to provide the most comprehensive care possible. I strive to understand the patient’s health history as well as their family history, since many dental health problems can be genetic. I believe in truly comprehensive care, and take the time to know all aspects of my patients’ dental and overall health.
I take a deep interest in my patients and their well being. My staff truly care about each patient, and care about what they do every day. Our patients appreciate the friendliness and honesty of our team, and we all love to laugh together! Dentistry is fun, and I want our patients to look forward to each visit with us.
Family Life
I was born in Washington, DC and grew up on Mercer Island. I have lived in Bellevue since 2001, and love living here! My mom lives in Issaquah, and my three brothers and three sisters all live in western Washington.
In my spare time, I love to travel, SCUBA dive, listen to music, read, go to good movies, ski, and do anything outdoors! I’m a huge “techie,†and enjoy reading about new technology or computers. I also simply love dentistry, so I find myself often reading about emerging treatments on my time off!
In the Dental Community
I am very involved in local professional organizations, and am active in the Seattle-King County Dental Society, the Washington State Dental Association, and the University of Washington School of Dentistry. I also serve on the Board of Directors of DentPAC, the Political Action Committee of the WSDA. We are actively involved in protecting and improving the oral health of the citizens of our state at the local, state and national level.
I have also been involved with NW Precedent, a five-state National Institute of Health that helps fund research based out of the University of Washington and Oregon Health Sciences University dental schools. I have been active in NW Precedent since it began, and I currently hold an affil
