Dr. Kodlipet Chandrashekhar Dharmashankar, MD

Since long I have been the prey of my heart, experiencing pain and hopelessness until the exceptional skills and experience of Dr. Snehal Patel and Dr. Dharmasankar had recently resolved. What atleast two cardiologists thought is impossible, Dr. Patel and Dr. Dharma solved in their three angioplasty performed in Feb, 2023 at HCA Clear Lake Hospital. They just did not give up, tried persistently and finally opened up my clogged arteries. I'm about a year late writing this review. I saw my GP in Pearland in early May 2017 and told him that something in my chest felt different. I wasn't in pain, but I had increased shortness of breath and a tightening that just felt different. My GP had me an appointment with Dr. Dharma the next day, and Dr. Dharma brought me back for a work in echocardiogram the very next day after that. My husband and I left for an extended out of state stay the day after my echo. Dr. Dharma called me with the results a few days after we arrived at our out of state destination. He explained that he thought we were already at a point that needed surgical intervention. He strongly recommended that I either come back to Houston or seek out another cardiologist where we were, but he stated that I should not wait until we returned in the fall of 2017. We researched cardiologists where we were, and made the decision to stay. Dr. Dharma's office sent my echo, all my records within a week to a new… cardiologist that informed me my aortic valve was completely calcified and all my blood was being pumped through an opening about the size of the tip of a ballpoint pen. It should be closer to the surface area of a teaspoon. It wasn't the summer we had planned, but it was the summer that saved my life. I appreciate Dr. Dharma and his staff very much! I highly recommend him!
