Dr. Kofi Clarke, MD

Very frustrating experience with Dr. Clarke like others. I was excited to go to the Penn State Clinic to get some answers and move to the path of recovery. I went to him with on-going GI issues, and he ordered blood work and then determined there was nothing wrong with me and it must be all in my head. My last visit while I was talking to him, he had his back turned to me the entire time while on his computer and did not seem to be listening to one word I said. I will never go back to see him again and would not recommend him for anyone with on-going health issues. What a shocker, I went to a different GI specialist and was misdiagnosed by Dr. Clarke. He would be fine if you are asymptomatic and looking for monitoring a current problem but did not help any of my symptoms.

Dr. Clark used to be my primary care doctor before he decided to go back to school to further his education. I have not been able to find a good PCP since he left. I miss him so much. He took a holistic approach caring for me. May God bless him and his family.

Visit started out well, but declined rather quickly. When I started to explain my different issues and symptoms, he would just nod and not say anything while his back was to me while he was looking at his computer. I am very knowledgeable on my condition because I've done alot of research. He apparently didn't like that or felt maybe I knew better than him and quickly dismissed all my concerns. He then proceeded to tell me that all my issues are anxiety related and wanted to prescribe an antianxiety med which I refused. I pretty much left in tears. He did order a few tests which one came back positive. Imagine that...maybe it's not all in my head! He's very arrogant and condescending and I won't be going back to him!

The doctor was pleasant, but in a very superficial (maybe condescending?) manner. He's a big man so his exam probing is painful. But, the worst part was he didn't listen to my answers to his questions, pushed for SEVERAL other tests, and totally misdiagnosed my problem.

I have only been to see Dr. Clarke 1 time so far but can say I have gotten much better results from him than over at upmc. Hes not just a handsome man but very nice and thorough and his nurse Jen is so sweet and gets back with you immediately. This is by far the best decision i've ever made! At upmc they treat you like a number! Dr. Clarke is doing more for me in my 1 vist then upmc has done in 5 years! Thank you Dr. Clarke and Jen.
