Dr. Yuki Koichi, MD

Koichi Yuki, MD, is a senior associate in cardiac anesthesia in the Department of Anesthesiology, Critical Care and Pain Medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital, director of Cardiac Anesthesia Research, and a professor of anaesthesia at Harvard Medical School. He specializes in pediatric cardiac anesthesiology and perioperative care for children with complex congenital heart disease undergoing cardiac surgery and other advanced procedures. Dr. Yuki earned his medical degree from the University of Tokyo Faculty of Medicine and completed surgical internship training at the University of Hawaii, anesthesia residency training at Massachusetts General Hospital, and fellowship training in pediatric anesthesia and pediatric cardiac anesthesia at Boston Children’s Hospital. In addition to his clinical work, he leads a nationally funded research program focused on sepsis, systemic inflammation, immune cell biology, and the impact of anesthetics on perioperative immune function and …postoperative outcomes in pediatric patients.
