Dr. Kok Leung Chong, MD

The several times I’ve seen Dr Chong for upkeep of my dialysis access, he has always worked with me to do what’s best for both my fistula and me personally. Due to having had many catheters for dialysis, the vascular system in my chest has narrowed and occasionally needs angioplasty to keep the flow healthy for dialysis. In my most recent visit, he could have gone in and done so, but after conferring with me, and since my dialysis was doing well with no issues, we agreed to hold off until the next appointment in 3 months. He’s right on it if you really need the procedure, but he also knows when it’s not necessary, which is rare nowadays.

My visit to Dr. Kok Chong's new facility in St. Augustine was very comforting and helpful. I know him to be a Doctor who cares deeply about his patients and is very up on current procedures. His new office was open, inviting and calming.

He and his whole staff are very patient and and attentive. He takes the time to explain everything both before and after the procedure. I would recommend him to anyone who needs this kind of work done. He has SUCCESSFULLY performed a procedure after my going to the hospital and being told it couldn't be done,and I would need to redo a surgery to have it redone,

Honestly, I don't even know where to start. My family and I took a loved one to see the so-called doctor for some urgent medical issues. The so-called doctor performed a procedure on our family member but after about 3 months, the family member had the same issue all over again. We attempted to contact the office to set an appointment and try to fix the issue. They set an appointment for us and canceled on us. Not ONCE, but TWICE! They said their 'Ultrasound Technician' called out. The third time, so-called Dr. Chong did the ultrasound himself after having us wait 2 hours only to tell us that he doesn't really know how read the results of the ultrasound but is tired of us complaining so he'd do it himself. If your ultrasound technician calls out 3 times in a row, you need to hire more dependable staff. There should be no reason as to why you have to explain to a patient that you, a doctor, doesn't understand how to operate an ultrasound. Then when the time came to… perform the actual procedure, he said he didn't have the necessary tools and would have to order them. When that excuse wasn't enough we were also told that the medical sales representatives were a no call no show and they had to be there for the procedure as well. HOWEVER, we were told that they had full intentions of performing the procedure that day. How exactly do you perform the procedure if you don't have the necessary equipment? We were told a solid 5 lies and then after getting completely frustrated, we were basically told to find a new doctor because so-called Dr. Chong doesn't like it when his patients aren't satisfied with his work. WHAT WORK?????????? He is the only doctor at the clinic off of Lomax on Riverside and has about 20 medical assistants in the office mostly just hanging out. At any given time he has about 10 patients in his waiting room and devotes about 5 minutes to each patient and doesn't give you straight forward answers. He will tell you whatever he feels you will believe as long as it gets him out out of the room so he can move on to the next patient. I do not recommend this so-called doctor to anyone. He only cares about having a high number of patients for profit, he doesn't care about treating you. He will tell you anything to get you out of the office. Please take your loved ones to an actual human being who is serious about their profession. He is a joke.
