Dr. Chaiyasate has extensive experience in cancer reconstruction using microvascular free tissue transfer to rebuild a face, a jaw, a nose, and an ear. He also offers reconstructive options to patients following breast cancer. Using his artistic skills and his unique microvascular talents, Dr. Chaiyasate has also performed DIEP (Deep Inferior Epigastric Perforator) flap breast reconstruction more than 3500 cases since 2011. He offers other innovative perforator flaps breast reconstruction and offers surgical …treatment for lymphedema, including vascularized lymph node transfer and lymphovenous bypass. Dr. Chaiyasate is one of only a few surgeons in Michigan who are qualified to perform these surgeries and is able to consistently achieve excellent results.

Dr. Chaiyasate completed residencies in General Surgery at Providence Hospital and Medical Centers, as well as in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Detroit Medical Centers/Wayne State University School of Medicine. To further his training and offer specialized services, he also completed fellowships in Craniofacial Surgery and Pediatric Plastic Surgery through Washington University School of Medicine and in Reconstructive Microsurgery and DIEP flap breast reconstruction at Ohio State University Medical Center and The James Cancer Center.
