Dr. Konoy Kishore Mandal, MD

I hate to comment on negative reviews left here because I do not know their experience. But I have been going with ECT treatments with Dr. Mandel for 9 years and he is polite and respectful. I have never had anything less than extraordinarily effective session with him. While the ECT is had effective, I have to say that his upbeat and reassuring personality is 110 on scale of 100. Please not the reviews fall into two categories : majority with 5* and remainder with 1*. No in between ground. It should be noted that he is not a GP, but a psychiatrist who deals with the most severely impacted of mental health patients. I have to believe that some of the low ratings have to do with mental disposition of some of these patients. As an aside there have been substitute ECT psychiatrists when he is unavailable and the difference in overall personal relationship has been striking.

My fiance and I have been trying to get him in for a refresher of ECT for more than 3 months now and they refuse to even call us back at this point. At first Gretchen was really nice and said she would do anything to get him in for help. Now, she won't return calls or emails. They don't care at all!! Which is sad because Dr. Mandel used to really care about his patients!!! Guess he's gotten too important now!!

Absolutely incompetent doctor. Manages medications poorly. He lied and made things up in my medical records after he was faced with criticism (which I can prove). He also accused me of seeking attention because I struggle with self harm. He cannot handle criticism. He is an insensitive narcissist who shows no compassion

I don’t know what I would have done without this doctor. I didn’t want to reach out for help because I was very ashamed of my drinking. I can’t imagine that I would have been able to stop on my own. The doctor offered me several different options and we found some really good fits for my life and values.

Finally I have got a great doctor for me. Dr. Konoy K Mandal is very friendly. He listen my problem carefully and give me proper treatment. Highly Recommended

Dr Mandal has been very kind and very thoughtful. He is upbeat and encourages you to take care of yourself. I was suicidal when I first went to him for ECT and I was in the hospital. He helped me and continues to help me. He has always been encouraging and always smiles and makes you feel safe in his care. If I hadn’t gone to him (and continue to go to him) I don’t believe I would still be alive let alone starting to go places and do things. If you’re suffering, I strongly recommend you visit him.

This doctor is nuts, and is abusive toward his patients. The hospital runs on empty promises and the doctor is so overwhelmed with responsibility that he looses his temper with patients on a regular basis. He cursed at me, called me names and purposely put me through an unbelievable amounts of pain. Not a good person.

His license should be taken away! This man lied to and threatened me. HE needs a psychiatrist! His entire staff is afraid of him, a complete tyrant.

I deal with a lot of doctors on a daily basis and I have never met a doctor with such a caring and enthusiasm about his work. I leave his office feeling hopeful and enthused about my future and my treatment. He explains the diagnosis and what he is doing He always ask my opinion and encourages me a long the way of my treatment I feel my future will be better. I would recomend him to all that need his treatment. Thank you Dr Mandal.

I received ECT from Dr Mandal without adequate informed consent- I now have severe memory loss and cognitive impairment with an excellent memory and high is before treatment. This treatment and substandard care I received has destroyed my life.
