Dr. Kortni Grace Mccall, DO

Very friendly. Really cares about her patients. Explains things in a way that is easily understood. Great bedside manner!

Dr. McCall works as a hospitalist at Crestwood Medical Center. She admits you right from the ER or takes over from the night doctor and takes care of you until discharge. She will consult specialists as needed. What I liked about her is that she is very thorough and takes the time to explain what the plan is each and every day. She probably has thirty patients she sees every day but we always felt we could contact her with any questions. Nursing staff spoke highly of her. Other doctors, therapists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, respiratory workers, etc, spoke highly of her, too. Sometimes she seemed rushed, but she would explain why (which was usually a really critical patient being admitted from the ER or crashing in the ICU) and let us know that she was keeping our family member's health in mind. She was quick to come back to our hospital room later in the day to apologize and answer any questions then. I feel like the negative reviews from before were when… she wan't allowed the time to spend with patients and their families. There is no way she could have negative reviews, otherwise, because she is just awesome!

WONDERFUL PROVIDER

She's was my PCP for about 2 years. In the beginning she was fine. Took time to listen, was able to sort through my complicated history. I think the practice has grown to the point where she no longer is able to spend more than a couple of minutes with her patients. This makes communicating with her difficult. You tell her your problem, she disappears and then a nurse comes in and tells what she decided to do for you. She also referred me to specialists for things that I expect a GP to be able to handle. When you call for an appointment the message states if you need to be seen for more than one problem be sure to tell them when you make the appointment. So, if you don't do that you are out of luck if you show up and have an additional concern. They have also made appointments with a specialist or for diagnostics and no one informed me. So, I mostly don't care for the way the practice is run. They shuffle you in and out as fast as they can and spend most of their time on laptops. They… would be fine for someone who is basically healthy just needing annual check ups or run of the mill illness but, not people with multiple issues or chronic illness.

I have no respect for this Dr or the office she works in. On my first visit she marked off that she checked my thyroid my stomach etc listened to my lungs etc. But she didn't even lay a finger on me. When I went in for my neck surgery I found out that I had two large growths on my thyroid and after the biopsy found out that one was cancer. If I would have waited for Dr. Gillman to find it I probably would not have been here today. Oh and the thyroid blood work was fine. So make sure and check yourself. Always in a hurry to get you out of there. Orders tests that they know are not covered by your insurance and that you don't really need.

Dr. Gillman is incredibly knowledgeable about medicine. She really listens to what someone says and then is able to simply go over what the symptoms could be from and what workup would be most appropriate. And my wait there has never been very long - once, she had a critically ill patient that made her 30 minutes behind, but she apologized and explained why she was running a little behind. Other than that one incident, she has always been on time. Very organized. And you can tell she cares.
