Anti-opiate zealot.

I previously left a positive review at the beginning of my treatment but my subsequent visits have been subpar and borderline cruel. I have maintained fairly responsible expectations, not hassled for pain meds, and checked in every half year or so per a chronic and untreatable condition that requires physical therapy and sometimes, pain management. I have been treated increasingly poorly over the years and finally was told that I could find someplace else and they would no longer treat me because I have a chronic condition. (Where the main treatment is just routine PT and pain management.) It is ridiculous thata *pain clinic* cannot handle basic care and tosses patients they simply don't want to work with anymore after literally years of no issues. There seems to be a lot of laziness, egos, and bureaucracy at play and I've switched to a poorly competent team who manages my condition with minimal effort. Dr. Ferguson's nurse, Nicole Wolfgram, is just as negative with a poor attitude.… You cannot treat humans this way. Unacceptable.

Dr. Ferguson is fairly blunt and has a bit of a dry sense of humor, so I think going in knowing that is beneficial. I respect his approach to not use medication to mask symptoms. If you think you've felt pain now, withdrawal from pain medications is a whole new kind of...heck. He's done several procedures on me which I appreciate. I felt a tad rushed a few times but as a whole, I think he's one of the best in the area. Would recommend it, especially for nerve-related pain.

I had high hopes that Dr. Ferguson would help me understand why I’m still having debilitating pain after a L4-S1 fusion 10 months ago. He didn’t go over any of my medical diagnosis with me, he made no mention of a plan, and only took me off pain medication that had been helping me to replace it with a medication that is not FDA approved. He refused to listen to my concerns and offer alternatives. He also had my medical records confused with someone else’s when he told me to go back and see “Dr. *** who did your first stimulator”. 1. I had never seen the doctor he mentioned. 2. I have never had a stimulator. This let down has been devastating to me and the depression I’ve felt since feeling abandoned and uncared for has been the worst I’ve felt during this entire decades-long back pain journey I’ve been on. So disappointed in his lack of empathy and disregard for me and my physical and mental health.

Dr fergison was the only person that truly believed the pain I was in. He diagnosed me with complex regional pain syndrome when nobody else would or would, and has helped me get on the right medications. He does not deal well with emotional patients though, so try to hold back the he waterworks when you see him. The only downside of seeing him at APM Wausau is that you don't get to see him anymore, you end up seeing an NP due to coorporate.

If your DR refers you to Advanced Pain Management in Wausau, immediately ask to be referred to a different place. Rude, incompetent, Dr and staff. Dr Ferguson should be back in medical school. Avoid him, and APM like the plague.

By the time I met Dr. Ferguson I was dealing with multiple life changing pain issues.I had excruciating pain in my neck and low back. My days were always pain filled.Dr. Ferguson attacked my problems aggressively. For the first time in three years I have zero pain in my neck.We are now working on my low back and I am confidant we will reach the same result. I have seen many pain doctors but none quite like Dr. Ferguson. He genuinely cares. He will recommend the best physical therapist to work with you after he performs procedures. The most important thing to me was that I was able to remain productive, and have had very little interruption of my physically demanding job. I highly recommend Dr. Ferguson and his outstanding support staff. I honestly don't know where I would be without them.

Fantastic doc! He did a radiofrequency ablation for my low back pain and now I can dance again! Very warm and compassionate, highly recommend!

He walks in introduces himself and says he is not increasing pills! We didn't say anything ! We were seeing him cause other doctors np suggested to see him because he has experience with pain pumps and medtronic stimulator. We explained frustration of the high turnover in every facet of this office in past 1 1/2 years! Answer to only one question of either device was "it's 50-50" when my husband tried to explain pain he deals with and get his opinion. again he said not upping pills and see a therapist. Been there done that for over 20 years. Sometimes you can't meditate pain away! We are looking to see what would be good options. Just wish you could live in my body for a day and how would you treat yourself. With this he flew out of room had his np escort us out. Get a call 4 days later the np wants to see my husband next week but has no appointments open. Had to make it for the following week. Then 3 days later come in for a pill count. Never been treated like this… before anywhere! This is harassment!!! The most unprofessional, uncompassionate doctor! Obviously had no intention of helping. First do no harm!! This unfair labeling and passing judgement of patients. I wouldn't take my dog there!!
