Dr. Kris Adwards Vanwagner, DO

My only complaint with Dr. Vanwagner's office was the length of time it took to get into his office. Once I dealt with him, however, I realized why. From my first evaluation to my follow up after surgery, his whole team showed a high degree of professionalism. While awaiting my second cataract surgery, I jokingly mentioned to his surgery nurse that with the colors I had seen in my first surgery, the only thing missing was Pink Floyd music. Guess what was playing in the operating room when I arrived? Dr. Vanwagner himself actually called me himself after my surgery to make sure I was doing OK. Imagine that. I can not recommend him enough.

Dr Van Wagner is an excellent eye surgeon whom just performed two eye surgeries on me. I received excellent care and Dr Van Wagner is very professional as well as educated is his specialty. He also is very informative and has a very good patient/doctor relationship. I highly recommend him for anyone needing eye treatment.

Dr VanWagner was so informative in regards to my situation. I really felt like I was his only patient, knowking how extremely busy he is. Great staff!

I injured my eye on Sunday night when I was out of town. It was a very rural area where the accident occurred so all I could do is see a general practitioner there. He told me that he did not think I did any permanent damage, but underlined I should seek a specialist appointment as soon as I get home. First thing the next morning I called Dr. Vanwagner's office. I tried repeatedly for an hour, but his phone system was broken so I went to his office directly. The receptionist listened to my story with a fairly annoyed look on her face. She told me she was going to check if I could be seen. After a few minutes she returned and told me I could be seen in 1.5 weeks. I said that this was an emergency and asked if she could not squeeze me in at any time during the day. She said absolutely not. When I asked where I should go for help, she said there were other places in town and I should consider the hospital. Since I do not know the other doctors in town, I asked her if she could help me… getting in contact with them. She said was busy and I should check the phone book. Now, I have certainly never run a doctors office, but I am just going to claim that you can see one emergency patient if you really tried, without messing up your entire schedule. Other doctor's offices seem to be capable of doing so. This doctor's approach is especially sad since we have a significant deficiency in this region when it comes to specialists. I have heard very good things about the doctor himself, but his staff and his policies seem to have significant room for improvement.

1st visit with Dr.VanWagner we already had an accurate diagnosis was seeking a professional who could take on rare eye disease closer to home. The Dr. Himself was professional and seem to be knowledgable with the disease, however the nurse/tech was rude and extremely unprofessional. As a patient who has been seen by many who have never seen the disease firsthand I have the right to ask if she is familiar with the disease and if the office is currently seeing patients with the same eye disease, asking a question is NOT questioning her experience or credentials snapping at me & listing off experience did not answer my question I find this behavior extremely unprofessional at that point we should have left the office will we return for any future care NO would we recommend the office NO

I really liked Dr. VanWagner and his staff except the receptionist. She ignored me when I went to the window until she was done doing whatever she was doing. She could have acknowledged me and asked if I minded waiting a bit. I will go back to see Dr. Vanwagner because he's a good Doctor but wish he would do something about that receptionist.

I had an infection around my eye (eyelid). His office got me in within an hour. I did have to wait a bit, but considering I had no appointment, I am very grateful. The treatment worked fast, and he is very personable and direct to speak with.
