Dr. Krista E Shackelford, MD

I went to get an annual exam, and had a hard zit on my lower lip. The PA pushed me to get it removed without telling me the removal cost. When I get the bill, they charged $143 for the zit removal alone (Plus $65 for the annual exam). It took less than 5 minutes to do the zit removal. I have since bought the tool (a comedone) on Amazon for about $5.

I went in for my yearly check up. This is spring and apparently a little tick had found a prime suspect. She saw it and that was the only thing she saw unusual. She proceeded to have her assistant remove it. When I got the bill she had charged $145.00 to remove the tick. This seems like price gouging to me as if I had needed a professional to remove it I could have gone to my GP and had it removed for $30.00 or done it myself for nothing. I was not warned in advance that it would have been $145.00 to have her do it. I am dissatisfied

Doctor's assistant has no empathy. Not a nice person. Also the reception has no personality. She attempts to kinda smile.

My child and I have both seen Dr. Shackelford. She's a kind, caring physician with a courteous staff. She answered all of my questions thoroughly (and I had plenty) and followed up promptly.

Dr.Shackelford is always nice and explains things well. Her nurses are always nice its just the receptionist are rude and short tempered. But other than that she is a GREAT doctor

I don't have anything against this doctor, but her staff is horrible! The clinic has 2 locations, and when I called to schedule an appointment for the west location (calling the phone # for this location) the receptionist didn't tell me it was for the east location. When we showed up for the appointment the building was locked, so I called to find out why. The receptionist told me we had gone to the wrong one and would have to reschedule (the 1st available was 3 weeks later). When I got home I found another doctor who could see us the next day, so I called to cancel the appointment with Dr. Shackelford. I suggested to the receptionist that they tell their patients when they make an appointment which office to go to. She told me in a very offensive tone that they always do tell people which office to go to and that the number I called was the east office (I looked it up again and they are the same #). She was very rude and insisted that she was the one in the office when I made… the appointment and she always tells people which office. I know she didn't tell me, or I would have been happy to go to the other office. I don't appreciate being spoken to so rudely by someone who caused the problem in the first place! It's too bad a good doctor has to loose patients because her staff has no manners.
