Dr. Kristen Elizabeth Flemmer, MD

Do not go to Dr Flemming if you have an invisible illness. She will laugh in your face, literally laugh at you, tell you you're not sick, and completely challenge a hereditary mental illness that you may have. Apparently she can diagnose people she hasn't met before. And all you need to do is sit with her for five minutes and she can tell you exactly what mental health conditions you do or don't have. If you showered that day and aren't in scrubs she will tell you you "don't look sick" yes that's a quote. Life or death conditions having to do with mental health will be dismissed and laughed at. And when you have a panic attack in her office due to the humiliation she will apologize rudely and leave the room asap because she's uncomfortable with her lack of empathy for sick people. She has a history of dismissing mentally ill people's diagnosis or them seeking a diagnosis and tell them that "in my 30 years of experience I've never seen someone like you have that." Again a direct quote.… If your pretty, she will bring that up, because if you have a pretty face you can't be sick, right? God forbid someone commits suicide after being dismissed by her. I pray no one that's suffering goes to see Dr Flemming to be laughed at and humiliated. You can have a mental health crisis in her office and she will literally walk out of the room. Very scary, I've never been so disappointed in a person, especially a woman, in my life.

"Go ahead and report me. I don't care." - Dr. Kristen E Flemmer Barely knocking before entering the room, Flemmer aggressively began our conversation by telling me that she would never and will never prescribe the medication I came to the office with. I started out by telling her I am bipolar with severe social anxiety and paranoia, in short I get extremely nervous and scared around people sometimes... Literally sneering at me with every sentence, she went on to tell me that, the only medication I have found helps me (after telling her I've been on 7 different medications at once trying things out) is completely useless, similar to "drinking wine" and basically just for drug addicts. Kristen then began to tell me no one at AFC would ever help me with something like this- which is just flat out incorrect and a negative lie, I have been helped by other more competent and professional doctors at the same clinic, and when I mentioned that I don't believe that is true- Kristen… audibly SCOFFED and ROLLED HER EYES.......... After speaking to me for LESS THAN 2 MINUTES, Kristen gets up abruptly ending our visit before offering me ANY HELP or replacement medication. As I am walking out, stunned at the visit, I barely get out the words of "what was your name again?" after speaking to me very aggressively and loud our entire visit I was surprised when Kristen Flemmer chose to whisper her own name, almost as if she didn't actually want me to remember or know her name. I had to ask Kristen Flemmer her name FOUR times before she said it not as a whisper, and even then I confirmed with the front desk receptionist because she TRULY did not want to tell me her name. However as I asked Kristen Flemmer for her name she also SMILED as she said to me the most shocking thing I have ever and will ever hear a "medical professional" say: "Go ahead and report me. I don't care." that sentence is a direct quote from DOCTOR Kristen Flemmer. let that sink in, as that statement should really speak volumes about what this person thinks about their patients, job, life outlook, and attitude. Kristen Flemmers harsh words and unprovoked aggressive behavior induced a panic attack in me which lasted for hours. As someone who suffers from mental illness it is really difficult to reach out to others for help. To be made to feel a "drug addict" and less than a normal healthy person, by no less than a "trained medical professional" is, appalling. Dr. Kristen Flemmers does not stand with mental illness, something she showed me with her angry attitude towards me, and more importantly her words. I honestly don't know how long it will take me to become comfortable with seeking help again, as coming to a doctors office today for the first time in a while was a big step in what I thought was the right direction for me... All I can say is please, please PLEASE do not let anyone you love or even care about slightly go to this wretched, unprofessional, bitter, nasty, MEAN excuse of a women, and even less of a doctor. I will be pursuing this to the highest power and making sure that Kristen Flemmer does not disrespect or belittle other patients ever again. Horrible person, worse professional.

The front staff is very rude. I also feel too many people in the office. The new system they are implementing is still a new system and they have said that since they got it. Billing was changed and that was all goofed up and still is. Call to pay then they switch you back up front so you can be on hold again. Looking for new doctor.

My family has been looking for a new primary care for a while. I stumbled upon the website with all these wonderful testimonials of patients and quite a few fit our family needs and profile. Her front desk gal is very sweet and approachable and makes patients feel welcome . The first nurse I will refer to as "helga" and the the second actually had a sense of humor. Dr Flemmer entered displeased and grudgingly continued her questions and appeared annoyed by the reason for the visit. Clearly if I was a doctor I wouldn't need to see one. She then poked fun at my job, didn't believe my personal history and had no problem expressing her hatred for a prescription. (Clearly it was prescribed by a former DOCTOR!) she made me feel very inadequate and I will not be returning. I will be canceling my children's appointments. Very disappointed.

Dr. Flemmer is an amazing doctor. She is very kind and soft spoken. She listened to all of my concerns and answered all of my questions. She took her time with me which made me feel good. It's not a good feeling when a doctor is in a hurry to see their next patient. Her staff was very friendly and treated me like we had been life long friends! I'm so glad I chose Dr. Flemmer. You will not regret it! What a wonderful doctor!

I really enjoy going to Dr. Flemmer. We have some great conversations about the extraneous things of life while she is getting the medical facts from me. Some reviews have complained that she is brusque, but I find that she's sincerely interested but focused on a goal. One thing I appreciate is that she never asks me to wait and see what develops. I've come to her with questions about my daughter's speech delay, my depression and insomnia, and most recently my infertility, and she has always given me good advice, ordered the necessary tests, followed up quickly, and found me excellent specialists when needed. She takes the time to explain all the possibilities, even when the answer isn't certain.

I am giving Dr. Flemmer & her staff, 4 stars in Ease of Appt., Pormptness, Courteous Staff, Bedside Manner, Time spent with me. This was my Annual appt. so I've not had the follow up and there was no diagnosis.

Dr. Flemmer has shown me that she is one who carefully considers what could be wrong with a patient and does not give out medication unless needed. She will refer a patient to a specialist when she feels it will be helpful. These are important to me.

I have always had a pretty big fear of doctors because I feel like they never really care and listen to my symptoms. They sit there for 10 minutes, nod their head and then write me a prescription that doesn't even work. I just recently moved to the area and heard about Dr. Flemmer from a close friend and she had nothing but nice things to say about her. The wait time was very short and the staff was so friendly and caring! I explained to Dr. Flemmer why I came to see her and she listened to everything I had to say. She didn't act like she was in hurry with me at all. She explained to me what she thinks the best way to treat me would be. I was a little nervous just from past experiences, but after talking with her, I left her office completely trusting her. She is now the only doctor I will see and everything she has told me to do has helped me so much! Dr. Flemmer is an amazing doctor with so much knowledge. I never felt judged or hurried doing my appointments. I recommend her to… anyone who asks for a primary doctor. She is the best there is!
