Dr. Kristen Beth Silvia, MD

It pains me to give Dr. Silvia even 1 star. I totally agree with the comment below that mentions how she wants to control your life and if you defy her, you pay a serious price. Dr. Silvia psychologically abused me for months during weekly private zoom “therapy” sessions that she pushed on me. She promised to "never give up" on me, and told me there was nothing I could ever do that would make her upset with me, unless I stopped talking to her. She began invasive questioning about past trauma, and then left me to deal with the fallout. She told me "I love you, (my name),” during a zoom session, and when I confronted her, she said she meant she loved me like a daughter or a friend (which is still totally messed up). Later in a personal email, she claimed that the reason she said that was because she loves everyone on the planet equally (barf), and that I twisted her kindness for me into something ugly. She spent much of our time oversharing about her own life. She told me intimate… details which caused serious stress for me, and caused me to be concerned for her, when it should have been the opposite. When I tried to sever the relationship a few times, like a classic abuser, she would either become incredibly nice or would get vindictive and angry, even accusing me of things I didn't do and shaming me. I finally broke away but she still had to be in control. Dr. Silvia retaliated against me in multiple ways by withholding needed services. This woman literally drove me to the brink. She used her colleagues as proxies to continue the abuse after she no longer had direct access to me. Please seek other treatment options. I wish I could leave my name and contact info and more direct evidence and examples here but the review guidelines do not allow for that.

She is nice when it suits her to be. She wants complete and total control of your life. Your views will go in one ear and out the other. Just like every other doctor out there.....wanting the money without the hassle of having to listen to people's own opinions on how they should manage their own bodies. She's always right, the patient is always wrong. And God help you if you defy her suggestions.

I have been a patient of Dr. Silvia's for almost 2 years now, and I would recommend her to anyone! She's a very kind, down-to-Earth, reasonable doctor who takes the time to listen to you and helps formulate a plan for care that involves your opinions and input. Not every doctor takes the time to involve the patient with their care. Dr. Silvia always listens to your concerns and takes into consideration what you have to say. I feel validated as a patient, and I always appreciate that. Wonderful doctor, I wish I could have her as my PCP!

One of the best caring doctors I have seen. Always is current with my chart history and truly cares about addiction and helping people live better lives.

Dr. Silvia is such a change from a lot of doctors that I have dealt with over the years. She actually cares about her patients. Most doctors I've dealt with seem to be uninterested in older patients. Dr. Silvia hasn't got that problem at all.

She is kind, nuturing and easy to talk to.

I have had a few PCPs but Dr Silvia is the best by far she will spend as much time as needed with me and is the only Dr that i have ever had that actually listens to what i have to say not just in diagnosing but in treatment as well.

dr. silvia has been an awesome help in my recovery process. i have had some minor slips but she is very understanding never condescending. our dr/patient relationship is great all guards are down! i look forward to my monthly visit with her!
