Dr. Hammersmith and her office is one of best experiences I had with the medical facilities. She is very knowledgeable and thorough in her cornea diseases. She provided me with surgical and non-surgical options for my issues, but recommended to go with non-surgical cure. She provided pros and cons. I followed her advice and very much pleased with results. I am very thankful that I went to see her. She is definitely No.1 in cornea related diseases around central NJ and Philly area.

Dr. Hammersmith successfully treated my corneal ulcer. She saved my eyesight! She is a very skilled practitioner and a very compassionate person. Highly recommend her should you need a cornea specialist.

Incredibly arrogant personality. Dr Hammersmith has a very bad reputation in both Wills Eye and Jefferson Hospital as being difficult to work with, arrogant and someone who has been known to provide far less than adiquite care. Based on my own personal experience as a patient, I would recommend that you choose another doctor. Don’t put your trust in this doctor.

Dr Hammersmith was incredibly careless in prescribing wrong and harmful medication. She reversed the treatment plan that I was under by my Cornea Specialist and her arrogant approach to my treatment resulted in tremendous damage to my Cornea which resulted in the need for an emergency Cornea transplant. It is interesting that staff members st Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia expressed their concerns to me not only for the poor treatment that I received, but they sighted their own experiences in working with her as well. Do not put your trust in this physician.

I am convinced she saved my eyesight. Did not hesitate to refer to other specialists when needed. She's dynamite!

Arrived ten minutes before 9:30 am appt time. Left office almost three hours later on a standard office visit! Office overcrowded exceeding fire marshal limits with some people actually waiting outside. One patient I spoke to said he always schedules early spots then INTENTIONALLY arrive LATE because the staff takes them over the other patients who arrived on time! Thus we were there for almost three hours! (Myself and eighty four year old father) Dr Hammersmith is excellent in all aspects of care. Her office manager must address this situation.

My husband was referred to Wills Eye Hospital in 2004. He had several issues going on but the main issue he had was a non-malignant tumor on his right eye which required him to see many different specialist doctors, including Dr. Hammersmith.Before Dr. Hammersmith could correct his corneal problem, the tumor and his eye pressure had to be stabilized. This was a very slow process (over 9 months).Finally he was operated on and the tumor was removed, which allowed him to then see Dr. Hammersmith to correct the corneal problem. Long story short, my husband ended up with a K-pro, which is not common procedure. There are probably more performed today. In 2006, there were less than 800 performed nationwide.It saved my husband's sight in his right eye. My husband has been under Dr. Hammersmiths care ever since with visits now every 3-4 months.She is a doctor that most patients have to pinch themselves to make sure they are not dreaming. She is a true professional who knows her field and… can hold a conversation with anyone at any level and with a smile. With doctors being under so much pressure and stress today, this is a rare commodity.My husband says he is forever thankful that God put her in his life to help him through that difficult period.
