I was experiencing incredible amounts of pain at the sight of my sits bone and in my hamstring. I went to other doctors who said I had ischial tuberosity or sciatica. I was told to get MRI of my lower spine. I was given shots in my butt. The pain continued. I went to Dr. Wingfield. She knew right away what was going on. She asked if bending over hurt, if removing my shoe with the toe of my other foot hurt, she felt in my hamstring. She was pretty sure I had a torn hamstring. She requested an MRI of my hip - which is done at a different angle from the spine. Yep, she was right. Over 50% torn hamstring. She also said NOT to get steroid shots, because it can make things worse. She got me into the right kind of therapy doing the right kind of exercises and treatment. She told me to take it slow. My hamstring is better! She really listened (which the other doctors did not do) and she had the experience, both personal and as a doctor, to make the right diagnosis. I'm so… grateful I found her and will go to her with any future issues!
