I had a 3D ultrasound and the results was Normal - No cancer. She said I was over due for a mammo and did not see the reason was because I was going through Chemo, Surgery and Radiation when my mammo would have been scheduled. Really I was not over due but was falling my Doctors orders to have an ultrasound done because my breast is still tender. My doctor did order a mammo on the left and I refused because I had the 3D ultrasound on both and believed the 3D ultrasound would show more than a mammo would on dense breasts. When I refused the mammo Dr. Leatherberry said she would recommend an MRI and the MRI was with contrast. I don't believe an MRI with contrast is warranted just because I refused the mammo. I could see having an MRI with contract if there was something in the 3D ultrasound that needed further investigation. My body has been through too much poking, chemicals and radiation. I'm following up with my Doctor to see if she would order a 3D mammo instead of… the MRI with contrast. When will I ever be able to get past having breast cancer. This visit could have put a smile on my face and relief to my brain if she would have just gave me the good news from the Ultrasound instead of telling me she would order an MRI.

During a time of uncertainty that many women face with the possibility of breast cancer, Dr. Leatherberry is an absolute angel and amazing at her job. Thank you for your down to earth and sweet bedside manner, your incredible expertise and ease with which you do you work. What was a potentially nightmarish day turned out to be a day of moving forward with confidence, knowing that regardless of the outcome of tests given, I was in good hands.
