This practitioner needs to be more cognizant of the procedures he is performing and what he is unnecessary asking patients to do. I had an identical procedure a week before my encounter (VCUG) and the doctor was professional, pleasant and efficient. This doctor asked me to do things that would have been both humiliating and unsanitary and only after I refused his request did he allow me to complete the procedure in the same manner as I had before. The worst part? His narrative indicated that I was “unable” to do what he asked, and indicated that he asked me to do it differently. That is a false statement. I refused to urinate while lying on my back and insisted that he stand the X-ray table up so I could complete the test. His request was both embarrassing and degrading and would have resulted in the contamination of my incision site. Stand up for your rights and insist that you are treated with dignity and respect.
