I was referred to Dr. Vankat, because he was the only one out of the group that took my insurance. Dr. Shughoury has been my Dr. for 3 years, but do not take my new insurance, hence the referral. When I contacted Dr. Vankat's office, I was told I'd have to contact my PCP to get an order for my procedure. So, I paid for a visit to my PCP so that he could write the order. Once Dr. Vankat's office received the order, they scheduled for the procedure almost a month out. I was given prep of the procedure, the address and what time to be at the procedure. I was also told I'd have to have a Covid test before the procedure. I got all of this done at my expense. When I went to get the Covid test, I was told that my insurance did not cover the procedure with Dr. Vankat contrary to what I was told by his office. 3 days before the procedure the MA for Dr. Vankat called me to tell me my insurance did not cover the procedure. This floored me! Not only did I go through all of this to get… the procedure done, but I spent money including buying the prep. I work in the healthcare industry and one of the first things my staff do is get preauthorizations before booking an exam or procedure.

Very personable. Excellent bedside manners explains things in a way you can understand. Demonstrates compassion and patience in office visits and medical procedures. I am very satisfied.
