I was a patient of Dr. Modwel in 2011 after my first hospitalization for a possible tia/hypertensive emergency. My BP even though on meds was yoyoing. she took my BP At the office several times and said "You tell Dr. (heart dr) that I said you have labile BP"! So I did and the heart dr. said nooooo. Well, here it is 2019 and yes, I do have labile BP and am getting the proper meds. I think she is an amazing Dr. and an amazing human being. When she left the practice (years ago) I started with another Dr. otherwise - I WOULD STILL HAVE HER!!!

Dr. Modwel's office has serious problems that need to be addressed. I was a patient for several years until recently. After I requested my medical records be transferred to another local Doctor, they refused and/or ignored my written request which frustrated both me and my new Doctor. I made a complaint to the State Department of Public Health and after hand delivering a third written request form, my records were finally released. Just recently, my wife who is still a patient of Dr. Modwel was dropped by them because I left their care.

Dr. Modwel is a solid Family Practioner. I wouldn't call her Dr. House, but she is a good doc. I've read the negative reviews re: the office staff, but I think they are pretty good. I moved here from Southern CA where everyone is in a good mood most of the time, so I think the folks in the office basically reflect the CT or NE personality...matter of fact, to the point and a bit surly. So what, they get the job done and everyone in CT is like that.

Dr. took wonderful care of me. I had no idea how serious was my problem. All turned out just fine with the attention received from Dr. Modwel.

Staff was amazing!! I've left 3 messages for the doctor after an adverse reaction to prescription a week ago and have not heard a word from her nor any of her staff. Zero follow up to my concerned calls. Won't be going back.
