Dr. Heitman. Is not only a wonderful ophthalmologist but also is so way to talk too. Very rare in the doctoring profession as far as I’m concerned.

Dr Heitman has treated my wife and me for two decades. His care and attention was never limited to eye health, but to general health and well being, and the specific work-related demands that we put on our eyes. You may have to wait for a non emergency appointment, but while he is with you, you'd swear he has no other patients waiting. He donates his time every year to medical missions to impoverished countries. Integrity defined.

I was referred for cataract surgery. At my first appointment I told him I would need to go to a GHS facility for my insurance. He replied with “I can do surgery there but honestly it makes me cringe but we will work it out. Don’t worry.” My next appointment was 5 weeks later for measurements. When they completed my measurements and told me about my surgery days. I asked if it was scheduled for GHS. She said politely she would check. She came back and said I did not need to see him because he would not do surgery at GHS. I asked to talk with him and discussed our previous conversation and I’ve met my deductible so he said they could do both eyes before Jan 1st. He said he changed his mind and would not do any surgeries there nor would his partners. He would give me names of other physicians and promised to call and discuss my case with one of the GHS surgeons. I wasted time from work, money and trips to the office AND possibly the chance to have my surgeries before next year’s… insurance. Such a disservice and untruths. Very disappointed!

I have been a patient of Dr. Heitman for over 12 years and have always had an extremely positive experience. Every aspect of every visit from arrival to discharge is positive. I always appreciate Dr. Heitman's competence, attention, and unhurried manner.

Dr. Heitman is a wonderful man and great eye doctor. We think the world of him.
