Dr. Roberts walked me through the whole process and mDe the surgery very easy! Can’t wait for him to perform the sleeve for me! I know I am in good hands!

I have had 9 major surgeries on my stomach and doctor Roberts has done several. While he is a nice guy who expressed concern in his office I was completely disappointed in the fact that any time I was admitted to the hospital not only did I not ever see him or hear from him I was rudely told by one of his partners that patients are not allowed to call the office if I was inpatient it was up to my attending. This Doctor than told me it was harassment to call the office and I knew better and then she hung up on me!!!! What gets even better is that you only see residents and when you are discharged you still can not make contact with him because when you call the office his nurse/office manager screens all calls. It doesn't matter that he is your doctor and would like his input on your health because what you are going to get is condescending answers from nurse personality. The only time you get to speak with him is when you have an appointment in the office for 5 minutes. Like I said I… had many major surgeries with 5 being intussception. For the past 3 months or so I had been suffering from extreme abdominal pain and being frequently admitted to the ER inwhich again I only saw residents. I told them that it felt the same as when I had the other surgeries and my symptoms were also nausea, vomiting, blood clots in stool, and incredible stabbing pain across my upper abdomen. I also told the residents that it was hard for the intussceptions to be diagnosed and took several times. To no avail would anyone listen they often asked if I thought it could be gas pain and also if the blood was coming from my vagina and I was confused. Not only was this insulting but than nurse Jane at the office would say things sternly like well you really need to quit smoking which is great advice except I haven't smoked in about 10 years. The whole experience was disappointing especially since I just had a test the last time I was admitted which revealed, are you ready???? An intucseption!!!!!!' What I said the whole time!!! And I still never heard from dr. Roberts so I have completely found a new GI surgeon at a new hospital

Dr. Roberts is the best in Connecticut!

I came home one Friday night to find my spouse of 31 years dead, 10 days after surgery with Dr Roberts 1. I had to call the answering service TWICE and waited over an hour before I heard from the doctor on call - who was more concerned with protecting the group from malpractice than speaking truth to me. What is truly bizarre is that it never occurred to him to have Dr Roberts call me, especially since my spouse was his patient 2. THREE calls to the office before Dr Roberts called me. By then, my spouse's remains was in an urn. However, the office did manage to cancel her upcoming post op check 3. My spouse was obese but Dr Roberts never explained the timeline and risk of clotting It's very callous that the death of a patient doesn't raise to a level of significance at this medical group

I had surgery with Dr. Roberts in 2007 - I had developed 5 hernias from an operation I had in 2005 and was referred to Dr. Roberts by Dr. Ronald Salem. Dr. Roberts was wonderful - for an operation that lasted 5 hours, I ended up with no scars at all - and really no pain. He's an excellent doctor and I just feel so lucky to have had him operate on me.
