Dr. Kyle Christian Balch, MD

We have been patients of Dr. Kyle Balch since he began his practice in Gainesville. We have received excellent care, explanation and courtesy every time we have visited him from our home in Florence, SC. He had operated on both of us with outstanding results. We would never consider another eye doctor. Sometimes we do have to wait because of backup but Dr. Balch is worth every second we do wait. His staff has always been courteous and helpful in any questions we have. Anyone that would criticize this wonderful doctor surely has problems of their own.

This Dr Balch is rally not a qualified doctor but a hausk, all he think how to rip off patient insurance and their cash and how to over and repeatedly charge from seniors patients insurance he and his two other evil assistance women are also involve in his scam . Dr BALCH sued by their office employee because of these wrong doing and fraudulent senior charges, soon he will be behind bar and get arrested by the city official along two of his assistant. soon

I have been a patient for years and have had nothing but great care. I refer friends to Dr. Batch and thank my lucky stars he is my Opthamologist! Too bad he cannot be cloned, he is so busy!

Dr Balch has taken care of me and and my wife for 15 years. He has operated on both of us. He is an outstanding physician who has always taken his time to explain everything he does. His office is crowded because he is in demand. Sometimes things do get backed up, but he is worth waiting for. I now live in Ocala and travel to Gainesville because I trust him completely.

The doctor is too busy to take time with you. He didn't explain all my options for cataract surgery and picked a surgery for me. When I got home I realized that I wanted the near and far vision option and called back. The girl there wouldn't change it or talk to the doctor for me. When you see him he will cut you off. I was asking a question and he walked out of the room. After surgery I was told that I would need glasses for the computer and another pair for reading. I asked if I could have progressive glasses and he said yes and gave me a prescription. I had it filled and couldn't see out of them. I got an appointment with his female associate and she said the prescription was all wrong and gave me the correct one. So - bad service all around. My "new" doctor says that the lenses are placed correctly so that's a good thing.

This physician refused to return a $100 deposit when I canceled a surgery 2 1/2 weeks before the scheduled date. I am being charged for his office staff’s error . He was fast to cash the check 2 days after it was given to him. He never provided me with a copy of papers he claims I signed . I am a senior on a fixed income who does not appreciate paying for his inadequate scheduling staff personnel . His office is outdated . He is a greedy UF graduate physician.

I have been seeing Dr. Balch for years and have always been impressed with his thoroughness and professionalism.

After two separate incidents in which I and a family member waited for almost two hours to be seen by Dr. Balch, the final straw was when my wife, who had been waiting nearly two hours, was told that if she would see the O.D. rather than Dr. Balch she could get in. Otherwise she would have another hour’s wait. Three hours??!! People have jobs. They have lives. They usually come with a friend or relative because they will not be able to drive after having their eyes dilated. Overbooking is greedy, rude, and inconsiderate. To top it off, the optomitrist does not take Medicare, despite the fact that probably two-thirds of Balch’s practice are on Medicare. Shame on the office manager and Dr. Balch.

I would highly recommend Dr Balch for all your eye care. I had cataracts in both eyes and he removed the cataracts and implanted the multifocal Restore lens in both eyes. Now I have 20/20 vision in one eye and 20/25 in the other. I have worn glasses since I was 10 years old and now at the age of 59, I no longer wear glasses or contacts (except sunglasses). I am very happy with my vision.

I went to Dr. Balch for a Blepharoplasty. He was recommended by several satisfied friends(who all looked great) and my eye Dr. so I felt I would be in good hands. Dr. Balch was very professional and kind so I felt comfortable about the procedure. The procedure itself went very well. After two weeks I returned for my follow up visit and was released. Another two weeks passed and I noticed I had a knot in one corner of my eye that was not going all the way down and was slightly red. I called, hoping I would be seen, but the girl that called me back said I just need to let more time pass. Over a year has gone by and there has been very little improvement. it is difficult to apply makeup to that eye as it seems to accent the lump and discoloration. I am so sad about this, I hate looking at my eye but am afraid having it cut again and making things worse since there is already scar tissue there.Maybe I should have been more insistent on being seen again, but my fear of worsening it… held me back. I have tried every cream known to man to try to correct it and am now just trying to live with it. I still hear good things about Dr. Balch and I would recommend him to others, but caution them about the things that could go wrong.
