Hello, I’m sorry to see that the above negativeComment was repeated in triplicate. So they may have an unnecessarily negative impact on Dr Lapidus score. I hope the Vitals Inc administrators will rectify that situation. To the original poster, I too have been a Lapidus patient for 3 or more years with treatment resistant depression and bipolar 2. I can only imagine the frustration, all around, with your upcoming operation and trying to coordinate medical records especially since it seems you’ve had some good result with the ketamine and you probably fear (as I most definitely would), that without the ketamine you could slide back into a dark space. I agree that Dr Lapidus’s Ketamine procedures are expensive. Depending on how it’s coded, I find it’s partially covered or at least satisfies some of my deductible. I have decided that part of the expense of the treatment with Dr Lapidus is that you are paying a premium for a true expert in the use of Ketamine and that… you have a very qualified psychiatrist interacting with you while you are intoxicated. There are several other infusion sites around town that are a lot less expensive, but the infusion is started by a nurse (maybe) and you are left alone while you receive the treatment. A compromise I say. The refusal to give you records is more puzzling. I’ve been to several different psychiatrists and they’ve never asked for previous records. I’ve put together the list of medications I’ve been on, how long and the reason why it failed for me. I also include the Physician contact info and the time I’d been on the drug. They’ve always been satisfied and respected that element of taking control of your mental health care. I’m always curious about the notes Dr Lapidus takes, but I realize when he ask very specific questions about events or interactions, he knows exactly the correct situation and those involved from his notes. I struggle a lot about letting another doctor seeing his record. He owes you a diagnoses and his reasons, medication history, and perhaps a brief summary of specific traumatic events that impacted your medication. Perhaps if you made your request in a specific way and within limits, you might find success. Not sure if you mentioned if you had mood difficulties, but when I read your post it sounded a lot like what I would’ve posted when I was stressed and feeling I’d been wronged. When I felt I was sort of under attack. It is a very common situation and really difficult to move a way from. Good luck with your surgeries. I hope you will get what you need from Dr Lapidus (remember being specific helps. And you may want to ask your new psychiatrist what he would find of value from Dr Lapidus). Or, suggest that he calls Dr Lapidus for a consultation. Best, Rick

Surprised with these reviews. I’ve been under his care for 3 years for treatment resistant depression and bipolar. He’s been a miracle worker for me. He runs his business professionally. And is very accommodating with my appointments.
