Where shall I start? My dad got an injury on hand that needed to be stitched while working a machine at his work. Supposedly someone told him about this fantastic place called "Palisades Park Medicine," so he made his way there while clutching on the wound as to keep pressure on it. He was forced to wait for a solid half hour by the receptionist after having to write up a full form complete with signature with his usable hand (which, incidentally, was needed to keep his injured hand from bleeding), while a patient with a less urgent issue was admitted in.The treatment was very poor in itself--hot water was initially poured onto the wound (by mistake, they say), after which the wound was ineptly sutured by the nurse (the doctor was not in at the moment, I suppose). Some time later, the receptionist came into the room to assist the nurse, after which she berated the nurse for cutting the thread too short, and for working on the wound--yes, this is exactly what she said--with dirty hands.… Don't even bring up the fact they were incompetent enough to stop the bleeding in the process. After butchering up the suturing process, they finally decided to stick a bandage on top of the mess to patch it up. The whole fiasco cost my dad over $500 dollars. Wait, make that $650. The doctor had the grace to open up a tiny bit of time in his schedule to stick an IV needle in my dad's arm (to which he _clearly_ refused), which brought the cost up a whopping $150. Finally, my dad managed to make it alive through the procedure (a miracle in and out of itself). That calls for some soothing assurance or at least some kind of affirmation, right? And an assurance he got: the doctor plopped out another appointment for tomorrow to make sure there's no need for a surgery to follow up this travesty of a treatment.There's one thing for sure: We're never going back to that place again, and I would like to advise those living in its vicinity to spare the clinic of business and their hard-earned money.
