Very thorough and normal. Talks to you like a regular person

Dr. McNeely recently cared for my father. She ordered tests and scans and diagnosed him with cancer. We had been to several local doctors who brushed off our complaints because my dad is almost 90. She spent time with our entire family and explained things. Even though the prognosis is not good for him, I am thankful for Dr. McNeely. She has a calming sense about her. She is an exceptional listener, yet very transparent and matter of fact. One of the most compassionate doctors I've even encountered. We just wish she was in private practice.

We were recently traveling from out of town and my husband became acutely ill. We did not know anything about the SC healthcare systems and we ended up at Palmetto Health Parkridge. Dr. McNeely was nothing short of amazing. She explained everything to us and answered all of our questions. She explained all the tests that were ordered and their findings. She took notes and an extremely detailed physical exam. She seemed very concerned about us and came back to check on us several other times during the night (my husband was admitted to ICU with sepsis). I cannot say enough wonderful things about how kind, compassionate and caring that she is. She took time with us and didn't seem to hover and type in a computer the entire time, as is the case in other places. She even took the time to contact our doctors back in North Carolina, which was very much appreciated. Palmetto health has a gem with Dr. McNeely. We wish she practiced closer to our home in NC. As a retired nurse that… worked in a large healthcare system for years in NC, I've seen the best and the worst come through. Dr. Lacey McNeely is one of the finest physicians I've ever encountered in all of healthcare.

Without hesitation, she is the best physician we have encountered in my 78 years. My husband has cancer. He presented to the ER in septic shock. She spent hours with us and was open and honest about how he may not make it because it was that sick. She prayed with us. She pulled up all labs and went through them one by one. She listened to our concerns. Dr. McNeely consulted with several specialists---nephrology, critical care, oncology and cardiology. When all the consultants signed off, Dr McNeely was still there for us. She was our rock. Despite the very best care possible, we decided to transition to hospice over the next few days. Dr McNeely was there for us through it all. She hugged us, cried with us, and touched our hearts like never before. She even prayed with us. When was the last time you heard of a physician praying with a patient? We were overwhelmed with love and support and I don't think my husband could have had better care anywhere else on this… Earth. We love Dr. McNeely. The Lord definitely placed her in the right profession, as she is amazing.

Dr. McNeely immediately listened to my story and performed a thorough physical exam. I had been told by the urgent care and a separate ER doctor that I had an abscess with cellulitis. They told me I needed to be admitted for IV antibiotics. Dr. McNeely took one look and was concerned because that area was sloughing skin. She expressed her concern for a rapidly growing process called necrotizing fasciitis. She ordered a CT scan and sure enough she was right, I had to have emergency surgery. Dr McNeely saved my life and my leg. She is the reason I am still alive.

Down to earth, straight forward and easy to talk to. Hands down Dr McNeely is one of the best doctors I've encountered. Meticulous and thorough. She is definitely who you want if you are sick and in the hospital.

Dr. McNeely listens. She sat down with my family, took notes, and addressed each and every concern. We have never experienced such a level of personal care and compassion. She even went and personally got my dad a sandwich and a drink because he had been sitting in the ER for hours waiting for a hospital room upstairs. Never before have I seen a physician pay attention to detail like she did. We are so blessed to have Dr Mcneely leading our father’s care.
