Dr. Lachelle D. Weeks, MD, PhD

Dr. Weeks is an adult hematologist and independent investigator at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. She directs the Dana-Farber CHIP Clinic, which manages patients with the leukemia precursor conditions, clonal hematopoiesis of indeterminate potential (CHIP) and clonal cytopenia of undetermined significance (CCUS). Her work has led to the development of the clonal hematopoiesis risk score (CHRS), the first clinically validated tool for estimating the risk of myeloid leukemia and myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) in patients with CHIP and CCUS. Dr. Weeks is also credited with developing the first formal definition of "flare" in the inflammatory condition, VEXAS syndrome and specializes in managing the hematologic complications of VEXAS in the CHIP clinic.
Dr. Weeks is the principal investigator of The Weeks Lab which develops clinical tools to identify patients at risk for myeloid malignancies, estimate the risk of progression from CHIP/CCUS to myeloid malignancy, and define effective …strategies to mitigate cancer risk in patients with these precursor conditions.
