Dr. Lajean Rochelle Morrow, DDS

I am new to the area and first visited Dr. Morrow while her practice was still in High Point, NC (she has since moved to Greensboro, NC). During my first visit, the hygienist (who was top notch) brought to my attention recent enamel loss in the back of my front two bottom incisors. Dr. Morrow looked at them and said I would be okay for a time, but I needed to keep an eye on them because they were now more susceptible to decay. Since this was my first experience with enamel loss, I was very concerned. On my second visit 6 months later, the hygienist said they looked fine, but when Dr. Morrow looked at them she disagreed and said I needed to get crowns soon because they were getting soft and the decay process had begun. She then immediately said that she would take $400 off the price if I would agree to do them right away. Because I was low on cash at the time, I made a deal with the office that if I scheduled the crowns by the time of my next cleaning I would still receive the discount.… As that date approached, I decided to have my old dentist in Chapel Hill (over an hour's drive) do the work instead since he had done excellent crown work on me previously, and I scheduled an initial exam with him. To my surprise, he informed me that not only did I not need crowns, but no dentist of integrity would ever crown bottom front incisors because of their size and relative weakness unless it was an absolute emergency. But more important, he informed me that Dr. Morrow's original diagnosis that they were beginning to become soft (against the initial opinion of the hygienist) was patently untrue. Those two teeth, in fact, were perfectly fine and would probably outlast me. He then recommended a dentist in Greensboro whose office is much closer to my home and whom I could trust. Upon my recent visit to his office, he confirmed that my bottom incisors were not becoming soft and not in need of crowns. I do not normally post reviews online, even if I receive subpar services or treatment. However, I believe I'm obligated to make public my experience as outlined above for obvious reasons.

I have spent 40 years with this practice, recently being reassigned to Dr Morrow. Flat affect the first couple times, this last visit was an extraction during which she repeated, over and over, how she 'hated' cutting out root canaled teeth. Her hair kept getting in my face and mouth. The pain was horrible and when I asked, why, if this was a root canaled tooth, was the pain so bad when the water was applied, she shrugged and walked out. Never, never again.

Dr. LaJean is the greatest dentist ever -- smart, caring, super knowledgeable and a great attention to detail! You could not ask for more in a dentist.
