Dr. Lakshmi Lavanya Sodagum, MD

Good evening. I am so heartbroken that My Dad had a doctors appointment at Doctor Sodagum office in Newton,Nj on August 19th 2024 at 1:30pm in the afternoon and fell there in the office and got so hurt from that fall. He suffered multiple brain bleeds and broken nose and black eyes and died from the brain bleeds from that fall on August 30th 2024. He never came home from The hospital. My mom is not only a patient at Doctor Sodagum office as well but is his emergency contact and never got a call from this office to tell my mom that my Dad had fallen and I as rushed to the hospital. Not only is it proper protocol to call the person emergency contact but a decent human being would have done so. This is my father. He was not only a Dad he was a husband and a grandfather. This is absolutely heartbreaking for my mom, me and my sisters. I will never get over this and how my mom lost hours with my Dad when he still was able to communicate with her. By the time she got a call from Newton… memorial hospital. He was already not communicating and had no idea what happened to him. I called Doctor Sodagum office for some information and details on what happened with my Dad that day but really got no information. How would you feel if this was your father??? This is so tragic and happened so fast. It was a shock to us all. I just wish if anyone knew anything they would reach out to me and tell me exactly what happened that day. We see heartbreak when we look at the office. I hope the next family this happens to at Doctor Sodagum office will get proper protocol and compassion that should have happened with my Dad. Incompetent office staff..non communication between Dr and patient. Extremely hard to get a focused answer from anyone in this office. Do not recommend

Dr. made initial diagnoses of stage 3 kidney disease and sent patient for tests. No explanation or instructions given to patient. Did not listen to patient history. All tests normal and Dr. never followed-up to advise patient. When contacted, office staff said she only calls if there is a problem. Left patient totally in the dark. Very callous and insensitive. Rude office staff. Do not recommend.
