Dr. Lalit Jayantilal Shah, MD

I cannot stand Dr. Shah. We have seen him 3 times in office and have spoken to him once over the phone via their after hours service. His bedside manner is the absolute worst! I do absolutely anything I can to schedule with any of the other doctors at the practice of the NP. He is horrible about explaining anything, he makes the parents feel like they are stupid and anything they did was the worst decision, he is rude, not friendly, doesn't interact well with my child. Honestly, I'd say that he's one of those doctors who was probably quite good as he has a good reputation for people he's seen in the past, but something seems to have happened where he now hates life, hates his job, hates everything. He seems to just be biding his time until retirement. Very unfortunate given how satisfied we've been with the practice and how we absolutely adore the other doctors...just not him.

Dr. Shah is a good person but I don't believe he has updated his pediatrics knowledge and practice techniques since he was in school in India many, many years ago. He is, however, quick to recognize his limitations and make a referral to one of Indian 'friends closer than a brother'. The respect from other pediatric facilities and the quality of care provided by Royal Oak Pediatrics will improve whenever Dr. Shah decides to retire.

My daughters are now 22 and 19 years of age. I started with him when my oldest daughter Olivia was born, he was caring, gentle and always sweet and informative. He was the only one who picked up on my daughter having a hip dislocation from birth. Now my girls have moved on to an adult doctor and they miss him very much, along with Dr. Mannistoe as well.

Very caring dr who knows what he's doing. May be a little bit of a wait but that is typical of pediatrics, he is worth the wait in my oppinion.
